Professor Oak pointed at a segmented, yellow bug over fifty centimeters long, with a single white horn on its head.

"Its scientific name is Weedle, and its final evolution is the fearsome Beedrill found in forests."

"When you travel in the future, remember not to provoke these Pokémon unless you absolutely have to. A single Beedrill might not be strong, but they usually stay together in swarms, making them some of the most dangerous Pokémon in the forest."

"If you provoke them, remember to run toward a river. Once you dive underwater, they'll stop chasing you."

The children immediately gathered around, chattering beside the Weedle.

"Wow, so this is a Weedle! I've never seen one where I live!"

"Yeah, yeah! Its horn looks so scary. Is it poisonous?"

"It's fine! I'm from Kanto, and these Pokémon are really weak. As long as you don't provoke it, it won't attack you."

"Exactly! I've seen them loads of times when I've gone out to play. It's fine."

Some of the braver boys had already reached out their little hands and stroked Weedle.

Seeing that Weedle didn't react, the others grew bolder and stepped forward to pet it too.

With innocent eyes wide open, Weedle stole a glance at Metagross in the sky. It could feel psychic power keeping it firmly pinned down.

If it dared make any suspicious move, it would probably turn into Weedle paste the next instant.

It was falling apart inside, but could only stay motionless while these human youngsters petted it.

Life was hard. The little bug sighed.

Up in the sky, Chen Shi stood solemnly on Metagross's head, constantly watching his surroundings.

Inside, though, he was secretly delighted. I finally got to enjoy the Steven treatment!
