"How did you figure it out? Old Chen said Winona felt inferior too, so why didn't I notice?"
Steven sounded puzzled.
Pheobe pricked up her ears. She wanted to know the answer too.
Cynthia fell silent for two seconds, then said quietly, "She kept sneaking looks at me, and the emotions in her eyes were complicated."
"There was envy, frustration, and loneliness."
"When the passersby recognized us, Winona became really uncomfortable. At that moment, her eyes were full of insecurity!"
Realization dawned on Steven. He had still been arguing with that Kenji guy at the time and hadn't paid any attention to Winona. He hadn't expected her to feel that way.
Pheobe couldn't quite understand. "Why would she feel uncomfortable?"
For someone as carefree as Pheobe, it was hard to understand what Winona had been thinking.
Chen Shi explained with a chuckle, "Maybe she felt she didn't belong with us."
"That's what happens when you guys are so famous."
Cynthia thought for a moment, then nodded slightly in agreement.
Steven smacked his lips and slowly shook his head. "Then I really can't understand how she thinks. Maybe Old Chen was right, and Winona does think a little differently from most people."
"Wallace probably has his work cut out for him."
Chen Shi waved a hand. "It's none of our business anyway, so let's leave it alone."
"Let's head back first. We'll ask the housekeeper to make some extra dishes tonight and have a proper feast. The tournament starts tomorrow."
Pheobe's eyes lit up, and she cheered immediately. "Yay! A feast tonight!"
Watching Pheobe's excitement, the other three exchanged helpless smiles before heading toward the Villa.
Early the next morning, the four of them set out fully prepared and followed the crowd into the Silver Conference Hall.
