  • As the group left the temple, Noibat noticed an oddly colored apple hanging from a tree.
  • Cheng Tian recognized the apple as a level 37 Flapple disguised in the tree and told Noibat to knock it down, planning to catch it for Coach Long.

Ch. 542Shennongjia, an immense dark cloud

After learning of a rumored Legendary Pokémon near Shennongjia, Cheng Tian and Su Han traveled into the rainy mountains to investigate. They stopped for the night near a vast cyclone, while two powerful figures fought inside the storm above them.

  • Cheng Tian and Su Han heard reports of months of rain near Shennongjia and decided to investigate.
  • The pair bypassed a checkpoint with Togekiss and continued up the mountain on Aggron through the rain.
  • Su Han pointed out a massive gray-black cyclone above a distant mountaintop as they approached their destination.
  • As night fell, Su Han had Kirlia use Secret Power to create shelter for them.
  • Two figures clashed amid fierce winds, rain, and lightning inside the storm clouds over Shennongjia.

Ch. 543Tornadus

Tornadus endured a month of fighting with a young Zapdos whose powerful father kept it from retaliating. It tricked Zapdos into leaving, then rested on Shennong Mountain as the rain finally stopped.

  • Tornadus fought Zapdos through storms over Shennong Mountain, holding back because Zapdos had a powerful father.
  • Zapdos struck Tornadus with a charged Thunder and believed it had defeated it, then flew away.
  • Tornadus re-formed on the mountaintop and realized its injuries would keep it from ending the storm at once.
  • Tornadus summoned clouds to hide and recover as the dark clouds dispersed and the month-long rain stopped.

Ch. 544Tornadus, cold outside but warm within

Cheng Tian and Su Han found Tornadus hiding inside a vast bank of clouds on Shennong Mountain. Tornadus tried to scare them, but Cheng Tian approached without fear and praised its kind nature, leaving the Legendary Pokémon unexpectedly embarrassed.

  • Su Han offered Healing Spray, and Cheng Tian offered to help treat Tornadus with a Heal Ball.
  • Cheng Tian sent out Milotic, whose Life Dew rapidly healed most of Tornadus's wounds.
  • Tornadus became captivated by Milotic and decided to let Cheng Tian and Su Han stay on the mountain.
  • Cheng Tian asked who had injured Tornadus, and Tornadus began telling the story after making them promise to keep it secret.

Ch. 546On Divine Offices

Tornadus explained that Divine Offices protected their holders and could be taken only by killing them, though he did not know where they originated. After Milotic healed him, Tornadus tried to keep Cheng Tian and Su Han from leaving, then pointed them toward a place where he had sensed signs of life.

  • Cheng Tian and Su Han questioned Tornadus about the Zapdos he had fought, and Rotom explained what Divine Offices were and how they could be seized.
  • Tornadus warned Cheng Tian that contenders risked disaster if they took a Divine Office without enough strength to keep it.
  • Tornadus admitted he did not know where Divine Offices came from, and Cheng Tian suspected they were connected to Arceus.

  • A Lunatone surprised Kirlia with a point-blank Gyro Ball, but Kirlia retaliated with Shadow Ball and Ice Punch, knocking it out.
  • Kirlia glowed with a brilliant white light and evolved into Gardevoir, stirring unease in Gengar.

Ch. 550Mega Evolution! The Psychic-type Queen, Gardevoir

Gardevoir completed its evolution and battled five Lunatone, then Mega Evolved under Su Han’s guidance to overwhelm most of them. The sudden surge of psychic power caused Gardevoir pain, so Su Han ended the transformation and Gengar took over the fight.

  • Gardevoir completed its final evolution, and Gengar felt both heartache at its growth and pride in its strength.
  • Su Han sent Gardevoir against the five remaining Lunatone, and it used Energy Ball, Confusion, Shadow Ball, Reflect, Light Screen, and Teleport to fight them.
  • After a Lunatone struck Gardevoir, Su Han gave it a Mega Stone and Mega Evolved it with her Key Stone.
  • Mega Gardevoir used Psychic and Energy Ball to badly damage the Lunatone, leaving only two still standing.
  • Cheng Tian explained that Mega Evolution’s psychic power was causing Gardevoir pain, so Su Han ended the transformation and Gengar caught it as it collapsed.
  • Gengar comforted Gardevoir, then faced the battered Lunatone and prepared to finish the battle.

Cheng Tian recognized the level 64 Hydreigon as an Elite Four-level threat and prepared to fight for their lives.

  • Cheng Tian and Su Han treated Greninja’s severe injuries, and Cheng Tian shared half of its pain through their Bond form.
  • After Greninja was recalled to recover, Cheng Tian agreed with Su Han that they should leave Meteor Falls and return later.
  • A roar led Cheng Tian and Su Han to discover a vast underground canyon behind an opening blasted into the rock wall.
  • Cheng Tian tackled Su Han out of the way as a Hyper Beam shot from the canyon and struck the cavern wall.

  • Cheng Tian and Su Han realized their injured Pokémon could not stop Hydreigon and chose the canyon as their last chance to survive.
  • Gengar distracted Hydreigon with Pokéblocks while Cheng Tian and Su Han jumped into the abyss, followed by Gengar and Noibat.
  • Su Han used her Aura to guide Togekiss as it carried them down, with Gengar and Noibat helping support it.
  • Togekiss crashed to the canyon floor, and Su Han shielded Cheng Tian from the impact.

  • Su Han used Gengar, Greninja, and Milotic to treat Cheng Tian's wounds and help him recover.

  • Su Han and the Pokémon huddled together for warmth and fell asleep underground.
  • Su Han woke, found that her Aura's range and power had increased, and used it to explore the darkness.
  • Su Han touched a black, metal-like rock, which began absorbing her Aura until she pulled away.

Ch. 558A Visitor from Outer Space, Jirachi

Su Han awakened Jirachi by channeling her Aura into a strange stone, and learned that the Pokémon had come from outer space to keep a promise to a mysterious little kitty. Jirachi believed Su Han might be the person it had been waiting for because she possessed the same power as the kitty, leaving Su Han unsure of their connection.

  • Su Han poured her Aura into the black stone until it turned golden and shattered, revealing a small Pokémon.
  • Gengar, Gardevoir, Noibat, Aggron, and the other Pokémon rushed toward the newcomer, but Su Han stopped them and approached it peacefully.
