A Z-Crystal was a special item used in Pokémon battles. It could upgrade ordinary moves into Z-Moves, boosting a Pokémon's attack power.
Kiawe had used this power before. It was unique to the Alola Islands and existed only in special mineral veins in the Alola Region!
To use a Z-Move, a Trainer needed a Z-Crystal and a Z-Ring as catalysts. These would trigger a response from the matching Z-Crystal carried by their Pokémon, drawing out its potential and its bond with its Trainer to unleash tremendous power.

Both Yong and Cynthia could use this crystal, but one alone was useless. For now, Yong could only put it away and see whether he could obtain a complete set for using Z-Moves during the rest of his journey!
Of course, looking at the pitiful Wimpod, with its watery eyes and utterly hopeless expression, Yong did not want to take advantage of it for nothing.
Besides, despite its timid nature, this Wimpod had not backed down and fled!
A Wimpod!
It had excellent potential.
Especially after evolving into Golisopod, it would be very powerful and look impressive too. Although Golisopod's Ability prevented it from
