After two children with the "Six Eyes" were born into the Gojo Clan, all of Jujutsu Society erupted. Part of it was because the Gojo Clan had no intention of keeping its strength under wraps and was even publicizing the news, but the other reason was that two pairs of Six Eyes were simply unheard of.
The Gojo Clan's stance was simple: why hide anything? They were the Gojo Clan, one of the three great Jujutsu families, not some random third-rate clan. Surely they could protect two children?
In contrast to the Gojo Clan's jubilant celebrations, the other two great Jujutsu families, the Zenin Clan and the Kamo Clan, were shrouded in a stifling gloom.
"Damn it, how is this fair? It's bad enough that the Six Eyes were born into the Gojo Clan, but why did two pairs appear at once this time? This has never happened before. Could the news be fake... no, no, no. The Gojo Clan has no reason to spread false news..."
The elderly head of the Zenin Clan was already getting on in years. He had thought it was nice that the Jujutsu world was so peaceful during his final years, only for this to happen out of nowhere.
The head of the Kamo Clan was not doing much better. The Kamo Clan was already showing signs of being the weakest of the three great families, and it simply had no way to stop the Gojo Clan's rise.
After grinding his teeth for a while, he swept his hand out and even issued a new policy for the clan's future: "Have more children, produce more offspring." Since they could not weaken the Gojo Clan, their only option was to strengthen themselves and hope that a genius would be born into their clan too...
With the birth of the Gojo Clan's two children bearing the Six Eyes, enormous bounties for their deaths appeared on Jujutsu Society's dark web.
"The legendary Six Eyes really do live up to their reputation. They're just two little brats, yet each already has a hundred-million bounty on their head. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Tempting, but I wouldn't dare take the job."
The bounties were astronomical, but to high-ranking Jujutsu sorcerers, they were practically traps. Sorcerers of any real standing knew the depth of the Gojo Clan's resources and understood just how difficult it would be to kill the Six Eyes under its protection.
Only third-rate Jujutsu sorcerers coveted those astronomical bounties. Yet never mind killing the two children-those third-rate sorcerers could not even get through the Gojo Clan's front gate.
The Gojo Clan's rock-solid defenses turned away countless third-rate Jujutsu sorcerers, and over time, fewer and fewer remained interested in those enormous bounties.
Of course, fewer did not mean none.
Six years later.
A Jujutsu sorcerer lurked at a distant street corner, where he could just glimpse the Gojo Clan's front gate from an angle. Although his fellow sorcerers had all advised him against taking the bounty, the reward was simply too tempting. He could not resist trying his luck.
Just as he swept his gaze over the Gojo Clan's sprawling estate, wondering how to make his move, the gates opened from within. The two targets he had been eagerly waiting for suddenly appeared before his eyes.
Six-year-old Satoru Gojo and Chinatsu stepped through the gates, followed by a line of black-clad bodyguards who looked exactly like the stereotypical ones in films and television.
At the sight, the dark-web assassin's lips curled into a wildly excited smile.
"Heaven itself is helping me! Now I can collect the bounty and make a name for myself in the assassination world. Maybe I'll even earn the title of [King of Assassins]~"
The dark-web assassin fought back his growing grin and pulled a throwing dart from his pocket. Looking once more toward the group emerging through the gates, he set his sights on the girl with the Six Eyes-Chinatsu.
In this world, everyone actually harbored a special energy known as cursed energy within their bodies. Most people simply had very little of it.
Unlike the "cursed energy" that everyone possessed, the gift known as an "innate cursed technique" was not something everyone had.
If "cursed energy" was electricity, then "cursed techniques" were the various appliances that could produce all kinds of effects when supplied with that electricity.
This Jujutsu sorcerer's cursed technique was called [Concealment]. It could conceal anything he touched. Using it directly on himself could also render him invisible, but doing so consumed an enormous amount of energy and was extremely taxing.
As the assassin tightened his grip on the throwing dart, it rapidly vanished from sight.
Such a cursed technique was a perfect fit for an assassin, making him all the more formidable. It was precisely his confidence in his technique that had given him the nerve to accept this bounty.
His gaze remained fixed on Chinatsu. After silently counting down, he whipped his hand forward and hurled the dart at her with a whoosh!
Got her!
The instant the dart left his hand, the familiar sensation in his fingertips had him celebrating prematurely.
Images of his dart punching through Chinatsu's head even flashed through his mind, and his already upturned lips curled into an even wider grin.
The dart sliced through the air, hurtling toward Chinatsu at incredible speed. But just before the scene in the assassin's imagination could become reality, the dart about to strike her head suddenly stopped. It hung motionless in midair.
Chinatsu slowly turned to look at the dart suspended in the air. She gave it a token puff of breath, and it fell to the ground with a clatter!
Limitless defense-manually activated!
This was the most basic application of the Gojo Clan's hereditary cursed technique, [Limitless], and also the strongest defensive skill in this world.
Simply put, this defensive skill made anything slow down the closer it came to the technique's user, until it effectively stopped, forever unable to touch the user's body.
The assassin stared dumbfounded at his dart, which had stopped in midair. He could not help raising both hands to rub his eyes hard.
Just as he finished rubbing his eyes and prepared to take another look, a muscular bodyguard was already standing in front of him.
The assassin's eyelids twitched. His endocrine system kicked in, and beads of sweat instantly covered his face.
At that moment, his mind raced frantically as he tried to work out what he could say to save his own skin.
"Um... well... I was just passing by..."
Even he did not believe the words coming out of his mouth. Staring at him from behind his sunglasses, the bodyguard clenched his fist, drew it back, and punched the assassin square in the cheek, sending him crashing to the ground like a discarded rag.
Bam!!!!!!
