Ch. 81Stay steady, don't get reckless

After Gyutaro and Daki’s defeat, Muzan summoned the remaining Upper Ranks and ordered Gyokko to verify the Swordsmith Village’s location. Back at headquarters, Chinatsu worried that Tanjiro’s unbroken blade would disrupt the expected story, then came up with a plan and entered his room late that night.

  • Oyakata-sama celebrated the news that the Demon Slayer Corps had defeated Upper Rank Six despite coughing up blood.
  • Muzan summoned the remaining Upper Ranks and angrily blamed Doma for recommending Gyutaro.
  • Gyokko reported that he had found the likely location of the Swordsmith Village, and Muzan ordered him to confirm it with Hantengu.
  • Chinatsu realized Tanjiro’s blade had not broken, so the usual reason for visiting the Swordsmith Village no longer applied.
  • Chinatsu resolved to keep events steady, formed a plan, and quietly opened Tanjiro’s bedroom door that night.

Ch. 82Innocent Tanjiro

Chinatsu secretly took Tanjiro’s Nichirin Blade from his room and found a crack in it, then arranged a sparring match the next morning so it would break in front of him. Tanjiro believed the damage came from his fight against Daki and Gyutaro, while Chinatsu offered to face Haganezuka for him.

  • Chinatsu sneaked into Tanjiro’s room while he slept, found a crack in his Nichirin Blade, and took it outside, deciding he needed a replacement.
  • Tanjiro woke after a good night’s sleep and agreed to Chinatsu’s invitation to spar.
  • Tanjiro drew his blade and swung it, causing the cracked section to break off.
  • Chinatsu pretended the blade had cracked during Tanjiro’s battle with Daki and Gyutaro and offered to explain the damage to Haganezuka.
  • Tanjiro remembered Haganezuka chasing him with a kitchen knife after his previous blade broke and gratefully accepted Chinatsu’s help.

Ch. 83Chinatsu Kept a Low Profile

Chinatsu received permission to take Tanjiro to the hidden Swordsmith Village and helped Kyojuro approach the Transparent World before leaving him to train. The next morning, Chinatsu and Tanjiro began the secret journey to the village with Nezuko concealed in Tanjiro’s box.

  • Oyakata-sama approved Chinatsu’s request to visit the Swordsmith Village with Tanjiro, whose sword was broken.
  • Chinatsu explained the Transparent World to Kyojuro, giving him a final push toward reaching it.
  • Chinatsu returned to find Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu resting because they had been told to take the day off.
  • Chinatsu, Tanjiro, and Nezuko met two Kakushi the next morning, and Nezuko shrank and climbed into Tanjiro’s box.
  • The Kakushi blindfolded and equipped Chinatsu and Tanjiro with earplugs, then carried them toward the first transfer point.

Ch. 84Arrival at the Swordsmith Village

Chinatsu and Tanjiro arrived at the Swordsmith Village to have Tanjiro’s broken Nichirin Blade repaired, and Mitsuri took Chinatsu to the hot springs. As Chinatsu reflected on Mitsuri and Iguro’s future and the coming battle against Muzan, she vowed to give Mitsuri a happy ending.

  • Kasugai Crows guided the Kakushi carrying Chinatsu and Tanjiro to the hidden Swordsmith Village, where Tanjiro regained his senses and noticed the nearby hot spring.
  • Tanjiro explained that his Nichirin Blade had broken, and Mitsuri told him to register with the village chief while she invited Chinatsu to bathe with her.
  • Mitsuri led Chinatsu to the hot springs, where Chinatsu was stunned by Mitsuri’s appearance.
  • Mitsuri asked Chinatsu whether she had a boyfriend, and Chinatsu teased her about her feelings for Iguro.
  • Chinatsu remembered that Mitsuri and Iguro would die in the battle against Muzan and vowed to help Mitsuri have a happy ending.

Ch. 85An ominous feeling

Chinatsu worried that Upper Rank demons might attack the Swordsmith Village and tried to keep Mitsuri there. When the village chief delayed Mitsuri’s departure to improve her blade, Chinatsu was relieved, though she realized events might no longer follow the original story.

  • Chinatsu and Mitsuri ate a huge meal while Tanjiro introduced Nezuko, whom Mitsuri happily held.
  • Chinatsu thought about the threat of Hantengu and Gyokko and tried to find a way to delay Mitsuri’s departure.
  • Tanjiro resumed training the next morning while Chinatsu stayed with Mitsuri.
  • Mitsuri said the village chief had asked her to stay longer so he could temper her blade more thoroughly.
  • Chinatsu celebrated Mitsuri’s extended stay and realized her presence might change how the coming battle unfolded.

Ch. 86Muichiro Tokito

Chinatsu and Mitsuri tested Mitsuri’s improved Nichirin Blade before discovering Muichiro Tokito fighting a Mechanical Doll in the village. As Muichiro moved to cut off the doll’s arm, Chinatsu called out to stop him.

  • Chinatsu and Mitsuri talked about Mitsuri’s past insecurities as they walked through the Swordsmith Village.
  • The village chief gave Mitsuri her improved Nichirin Blade and asked her to stay and test it.
  • Mitsuri tried the blade in a grove while Chinatsu heard fighting nearby, and they ran toward the sounds.
  • Chinatsu and Mitsuri found Muichiro Tokito battling a six-armed Mechanical Doll, which Mitsuri thought resembled Chinatsu.
  • Muichiro Tokito defeated the Mechanical Doll and prepared to cut off one of its arms, but Chinatsu shouted for him to spare it.

Ch. 87A Room Full of Fighting Power

Muichiro nearly damaged the Yoriichi Mechanical Doll while training, but Chinatsu and Mitsuri stopped him and Kotetsu repaired it. That night, Muichiro joined Tanjiro and the others to ask about his swordsmith, Hotaru Haganezuka, just as a thin hand reached through their door.

  • Chinatsu and Mitsuri stopped Muichiro from striking the aging Yoriichi Mechanical Doll, and Muichiro left with one of its Nichirin Blades as a replacement.
  • Mitsuri recalled her Flame Breathing training under Rengoku before Kotetsu restarted the doll and thanked Chinatsu and Mitsuri for protecting it.
  • Chinatsu encouraged Kotetsu to believe in himself, and he accepted her reassurance.
  • Tanjiro practiced trying to enter the Transparent World while waiting for his Nichirin Blade to be finished.
  • Muichiro joined Tanjiro, Chinatsu, Mitsuri, and the others to ask where he could find his swordsmith, Hotaru Haganezuka.
  • As the group chatted, a thin hand reached through their slowly opening door.

Ch. 88Hantengu on the Run

Hantengu stumbled into the room where Muichiro, Chinatsu, Mitsuri, Tanjiro, and Nezuko were gathered, then fled as they pursued him. As Hantengu appealed to Muzan for help, Muzan asked whether any pursuer wore hanafuda earrings, and Hantengu spotted Tanjiro.

  • Hantengu crawled into the room and was confronted by the assembled Demon Slayers.
  • Muichiro attacked Hantengu with Mist Breathing, Fourth Form: Moving Current Slash, but Hantengu dodged and escaped.
  • Muichiro, Chinatsu, Mitsuri, Tanjiro, and Nezuko chased Hantengu as he desperately fled.
  • Hantengu contacted Muzan and begged him to send reinforcements.
  • Muzan asked Hantengu whether a pursuer wore hanafuda-like earrings, and Hantengu identified Tanjiro.

Ch. 89Hantengu Takes a Headshot

Hantengu warned Muzan about the Hanafuda Earrings, prompting Muzan to send Kokushibo after the pursuers. As Hantengu fled Chinatsu and the others, Genya shot him with Nichirin bullets, but Hantengu regenerated and produced two clones that ran away.

  • Hantengu told Muzan that one of his pursuers wore Hanafuda Earrings, and Muzan feared the return of Yoriichi’s successor.
  • Kokushibo volunteered to face the threat, and Muzan approved his request.
  • Hantengu fled through the Swordsmith Village with Muichiro, Mitsuri, Chinatsu, Tanjiro, and Nezuko in pursuit.
  • Genya joined the chase and fired Nichirin bullets into Hantengu’s neck and head.
  • Hantengu regenerated and split into Sekido and Karaku, who ran from the group as Chinatsu and the others pursued them.

Ch. 90The Ultimate Clone: Zohakuten!

Muichiro left Chinatsu, Mitsuri, and the others to face Hantengu’s clones while he went to confront Gyokko, with Tanjiro following him. Sekido absorbed the other three clones and became Zohakuten, who attacked the remaining fighters with his Blood Demon Art.

  • Muichiro and Mitsuri beheaded Sekido and Karaku, but the demons regenerated into Urogi and Aizetsu as well.
  • When another demon attacked elsewhere in the Swordsmith Village, Muichiro went to confront Gyokko, and Tanjiro followed him.
  • Hantengu’s four clones stopped fleeing and prepared to fight Chinatsu and Mitsuri.
  • Sekido absorbed Karaku, Aizetsu, and Urogi, transforming into Zohakuten.
  • Zohakuten struck a taiko drum and unleashed wooden dragons at Chinatsu, Mitsuri, and the others with Blood Demon Art: Infinite Tree of Karma.

Ch. 91Taking the opposite approach

Chinatsu tried to find Hantengu's original demon by taking the opposite approach to entering the Transparent World while Mitsuri and the others fought Zohakuten's wooden dragons. Tanjiro caught up with Muichiro after saving a child, and they reached Gyokko as he terrorized the villagers.

  • Zohakuten sent wooden dragons against Mitsuri and the others while Chinatsu stayed back to search for Hantengu's original body.
  • Chinatsu struggled to enter the Transparent World by shutting out her heightened senses, then decided to intensify them instead.
  • Muichiro ran toward the fighting and considered leaving an endangered child behind to prioritize reaching the Upper Rank.
  • Tanjiro killed the carp monster, led the child to safety, and caught up with Muichiro.
  • Tanjiro explained that he had helped because it was within his power, and Muichiro agreed to continue with him.
  • Tanjiro and Muichiro reached Gyokko as he terrorized the villagers.

Ch. 92Upper Rank Five: Gyokko

Muichiro and Tanjiro confronted Gyokko at the Swordsmith Village, combining their attacks against his Blood Demon Arts. After Muichiro protected Tanjiro from poisoned needles, the two swordsmen charged Gyokko together.

  • Gyokko toyed with the Swordsmith villagers while a wounded Master Swordsmith lay near death.
  • Muichiro ambushed Gyokko with a bright red Nichirin Sword, and Tanjiro followed with a surprise attack, but Gyokko dodged both.
  • Gyokko summoned a giant octopus, which Muichiro and Tanjiro cut apart with coordinated attacks.
  • Gyokko's goldfish fired poisoned needles at Tanjiro, and Muichiro blocked them all with his sword.
  • Muichiro and Tanjiro turned back toward Gyokko and charged him together.

Ch. 93Gyokko's Humiliation

Muichiro and Tanjiro overwhelmed Gyokko with their Bright Red Nichirin Blades and coordinated attacks. After Gyokko revealed his true form and trapped Muichiro in a water pot, Tanjiro freed him and helped create an opening for Muichiro to behead Gyokko.

  • Muichiro and Tanjiro pressed Gyokko with their red blades, forcing him to reveal his true form.
  • Gyokko attacked with Fish Scale Thrust, but the two swordsmen held their ground and wounded his hands.
  • Muichiro attempted to strike an opening, but Gyokko trapped him in a Blood Prison Pot.
  • Tanjiro shattered the water prison and used Obscuring Clouds with Muichiro to disorient Gyokko.
  • Tanjiro pierced Gyokko's palm with Sunflower Thrust, distracting him long enough for Muichiro to slash off his head.

Ch. 94Muichiro's memories

After defeating Gyokko with Tanjiro’s help, Muichiro recovered his sealed memories of his family and older brother, Yuichiro. He thanked Tanjiro, now bearing a spark of life in his eyes.

  • Gyokko raged in disbelief as his head rolled away, while Tanjiro celebrated and Muichiro reflected that he might not have won alone.
  • Tanjiro told Muichiro that people helped one another and recalled Chinatsu’s advice to fight demons by any means necessary.
  • Muichiro remembered his parents’ deaths, his strained relationship with Yuichiro, and Amane Ubuyashiki’s visit to their home.
  • Muichiro recalled a demon attacking their home, Yuichiro sacrificing an arm to protect him, and Muichiro killing the demon in a rage.
  • As Yuichiro lay dying, he told Muichiro that the “Mu” in his name meant “limitless,” and Muichiro thanked Tanjiro as his memories returned.

Ch. 95Chinatsu's awakening

While Mitsuri, Nezuko, and Genya fought Zohakuten, Chinatsu awakened a new sensory state and cut down a Wooden Dragon before it could reach her. She then sensed and located Hantengu's Main Body hiding in the forest.

  • Mitsuri, Nezuko, and Genya battled Zohakuten's Wooden Dragons as Genya ate one and temporarily transformed into a demon.
  • Zohakuten pressed the fight as Mitsuri's stamina faded and Genya's demonization began to wear off.
  • A Wooden Dragon broke through the group's defenses and charged at Chinatsu.
  • Chinatsu opened her eyes, used Hinokami Kagura: Flame Dance to slice the Wooden Dragon into four pieces, and awakened a red-and-black Bright Red Nichirin Sword.
  • Chinatsu mastered a new sensory state, sensed Hantengu's Main Body in the forest, and said she had found him.

Ch. 96Dance Flash

Chinatsu revealed that she had located Hantengu’s real body and used a newly mastered Thunder Breathing-inspired move to catch and decapitate him. She left Mitsuri, Nezuko, and Genya to hold off Zohakuten.

  • Chinatsu ignored Zohakuten, who attacked her with a huge Wooden Dragon, and swiftly cleaved it in two.
  • Chinatsu told Mitsuri and the others that Zohakuten was only a clone and asked them to keep him occupied while she pursued Hantengu’s real body.
  • Mitsuri, Nezuko, and Genya stepped forward to face Zohakuten as Chinatsu prepared to chase Hantengu.
  • Chinatsu mastered and used Hinokami Kagura: Dance Flash to race through the forest and catch up to Hantengu.
  • Chinatsu sliced through Hantengu’s neck with her Bright Red Nichirin Sword, killing him before he could escape.

Ch. 97The Nightmare Descends

Chinatsu and the others defeated Hantengu and Zohakuten at the Swordsmith Village, but Upper Rank One Kokushibo arrived just as Chinatsu prepared to leave. She faced him with her azure Nichirin Blade and Water Breathing.

  • Chinatsu stomped Hantengu's severed head into ash, causing Zohakuten to disintegrate as well.
  • Mitsuri, Genya Shinazugawa, and Nezuko recovered from the battle, while the village's victories over Upper Rank Four and Upper Rank Five were confirmed.
  • Chinatsu sheathed her Nichirin Blade and headed away, thinking dawn was less than an hour away.
  • Kokushibo appeared where Hantengu's head had fallen, surprising Chinatsu with his arrival.
  • Kokushibo identified Chinatsu as the current Water Hashira, and she drew her azure blade and maintained Water Breathing Constant.

Ch. 98How pitiful you are, elder brother

Chinatsu faced Kokushibo after killing Hantengu, rejected his offer to become a demon, and fought him with Water Breathing and Hinokami Kagura. She wounded him by invoking Yoriichi's last words, then revealed a red blade and teased that she was Yoriichi Tsugikuni's reincarnation.

  • Kokushibo recognized Chinatsu's exceptional strength and offered to recommend her to Muzan as a new Upper Rank, but Chinatsu refused and prepared to fight.
  • Kokushibo attacked Chinatsu with Moon Breathing, First Form: Dark Moon: Evening Palace, and she dodged through the dust before charging with Water Breathing, Tenth Form: Constant Flux.
  • Chinatsu switched from Water Breathing to Hinokami Kagura: Flame Dance, and her first slash narrowly missed Kokushibo.
  • Chinatsu spoke Yoriichi's words, "How pitiful you are, elder brother," distracting Kokushibo long enough for her second slash to wound his torso.
  • Chinatsu tied her hair into a high ponytail, turned her black Nichirin Blade bright red, and teased the stunned Kokushibo by claiming she was Yoriichi Tsugikuni's reincarnation.

Ch. 99Kokushibo's troubled mind

Chinatsu used her knowledge of Yoriichi to unsettle Kokushibo and fought through his Moon Breathing attacks. As the battle intensified, she awakened a blazing crimson demon slayer mark and prepared to face him with its power.

  • Chinatsu claimed to be Yoriichi's reincarnation, and Kokushibo faltered when she repeated Yoriichi's private words to him.
  • Chinatsu attacked Kokushibo, evaded his Moon-Sickle Vortex, and made him wonder whether she really was Yoriichi's reincarnation.
  • Kokushibo transformed Kyokokukamusari and struck Chinatsu with Moon Breathing, Eighth Form: Moon-Dragon Ringtail, cutting apart part of the forest and wounding her.
  • Chinatsu emerged from the smoke and decided to awaken her demon slayer mark despite its usual life-shortening cost.
  • Chinatsu raised her body temperature and heart rate, then manifested a blazing crimson mark on her forehead.

Ch. 100Hesitation makes you weak (1)

Chinatsu used Hinokami Kagura to push Kokushibo into a fierce clash, while her resemblance to Yoriichi and strange regeneration unsettled him. After she taunted him by refusing to explain what she was, Kokushibo unleashed his Sixteenth Form against her.

  • Kokushibo saw Chinatsu’s mark and recalled memories of Yoriichi defeating Muzan, which made him hesitate.
  • Chinatsu attacked with Hinokami Kagura: Dragon of the Solar Halo, Head Dance, and Kokushibo countered with Moon Breathing, Fourteenth Form: Fierce Transformation, Heaven-Filling New Moon.
  • Their techniques collided in a fiery tornado, and Chinatsu and Kokushibo both suffered wounds as their swords locked together.
  • Kokushibo saw Chinatsu’s wounds healing and sensed her changing aura, then demanded to know what she was.
  • Chinatsu told Kokushibo to guess, and he knocked her back before attacking with Moon Breathing, Sixteenth Form: Moonbow, Crescent Moon.
