"It looks like this is the end, Mr. Westcott."
Westcott smiled faintly at Lin Guang's words, but blood surged up his throat, and he coughed violently several times.
Blood trickled from the corner of Westcott's mouth. As though he had already prepared himself, he looked at Lin Guang and asked, "You said that if it weren't for you, I would have almost succeeded. Is that true?"
Lin Guang had not expected Westcott to ask such a question at the end. He took a deep breath and said, "Let's leave it at that. It's time for you to go."
Although Lin Guang did not answer his question, Westcott understood.
"So that's how it is. I under...stand..."
Before he finished speaking, Lin Guang drove his blade into Westcott's heart.
Westcott immediately stopped breathing.
Once Westcott showed no more signs of movement, Lin Guang turned to Ellen beside him and said, "Thirty years ago, you, Isaac Ray Peram Westcott, and Elliott Baldwin Woodman summoned Mio from the neighboring world."
"Afterward, the three of you founded DEM Industries specifically to deal with Spirits, but Elliott Baldwin Woodman betrayed you and left DEM Industries."
"And Elliott Baldwin Woodman founded Ratatoskr and began helping Spirits, while you stayed by Isaac Ray Peram Westcott's side, helping him capture Spirits."
Lin Guang recounted the affairs between the three of them, bit by bit. With every fact he revealed, Ellen grew more shocked by him.
"...Until Isaac Ray Peram Westcott killed Shinji Takamiya, and Mio Takamiya began creating Spirits like herself."
"And you could conveniently capture Mio Takamiya's 'children,' the Spirits she created, to research how to absorb Spirits' power. So in the end, all you've been doing is helping Isaac Ray Peram Westcott."
By the time he finished, the shock in Ellen's eyes had turned entirely to fear.
