Professor Oak was a little surprised to see Ash Ketchum appear beside Lin Guang.
Lin Guang spoke up. "Yes, I was just about to mention that I met Ash in Viridian City, but I was so busy talking about Pokémon with you, Professor Oak, that I didn't bring it up."
"So that's how it is. I understand. Anyway, you've done very well. Although this is only a small step toward becoming a Pokémon Trainer, it's a big step for Ash."

A drop of sweat formed on Ash's forehead at Professor Oak's question.

Just then, Professor Oak suddenly remembered the ramen he was cooking and immediately panicked, though he didn't forget to say goodbye to Lin Guang and Ash.
"Oh, oh, oh! My ramen's about to turn to mush! We'll talk the next time you call. Goodbye!"
