Lin Guang walked over to Ash Ketchum and asked with a faint smile, "Ash, what brings you here to see me?"
At Lin Guang's words, Ash immediately looked embarrassed.
With a week left until the Quartz Conference, Ash and his companions had explored everywhere around Pallet Town and had even visited Master Bruno, the Fighting-type specialist among the Elite Four.
But that still could not hide the fact that Ash and his companions had not been seriously training their Pokémon.
Ash scratched his head and said sheepishly, "I heard you were training your Pokémon too, Lin Guang, so I wanted to come and see if I could learn anything."
Lin Guang smiled softly at that.
Lin Guang had long known that Ash and his companions had not done anything productive lately. Whether it was the matter of the ultra-ancient Alakazam and ultra-ancient Gengar or their participation in filming a Pokémon movie, Lin Guang knew all about it.
What Lin Guang had not expected, however, was that Ash would only come to him this late.
Even if Lin Guang wanted to help Ash now, it might not make much of a difference.
Lin Guang did not expose Ash, either. He simply smiled and said, "In that case, come with me."
And so, Ash and his companions followed Lin Guang to his base deep in the mountains.
Halfway up the mountainside, Lin Guang had cleared an area of two hundred square meters specifically to serve as a training ground for his Pokémon.
On the training ground, Scyther seemed to be sparring with a Riolu about a meter tall, though it looked more like Scyther was teaching Riolu and training the Pokémon in how to fight.
Elsewhere, Shiny Rhyhorn and Eevee were also training nonstop, doing things such as running with weights.
