The droplets scattering in every direction were exactly what Cordis wanted.
He had been worrying about what to do if they went out of range, but Youpi had punched straight at the stone. Cordis had only thrown it to test the waters.
He had still overestimated Youpi's intelligence.
Only Youpi could fail to see through such an obvious scheme.
Just then, the droplets spraying everywhere suddenly froze in place. With a slight gesture from Cordis, they shot toward Youpi.
Like tiny knives, the droplets left a trail of cuts across Youpi's body.
But those cuts barely lasted a moment before healing completely, just as Cordis had expected.
Youpi's hide was thick. Cordis couldn't pierce it from within or hurt him from outside, and even when he did inflict damage, it healed almost immediately.
But time waited for no one.
Knuckle and Shoot were still waiting.
To keep the plan on track, hesitation flickered in Cordis's eyes again.
His left hand instinctively reached for his chest, where he kept a card-the reward from Greed Island, [Archangel's Breath].
This was Cordis's last trump card.
It was only because he had this card that Cordis had dared to join them in fighting the Chimera Ants.
After making sure the card was still safely tucked against his chest, he glanced toward Shoot, then charged out of the thick fog protecting him without hesitation.
He appeared before Youpi.
Seeing that Cordis had finally shown himself, Youpi pounded the ground erratically with all six tentacles.
Without a moment's pause, those six tentacles lashed toward Cordis. They were so fast that even he couldn't dodge them all.
He quickly retreated two steps, turned, and leaped onto a ruined wall.
Seeing Cordis disappear again, Youpi roared in fury. This time, however, Cordis had no intention of staying hidden.
