After giving it some thought.

Cordis still told Kurapika what he knew about Nen.

After listening, Kurapika rested a hand on his chin and thought for a long while.

Then he spoke.

"Cordis, you mean Nen can be forcibly awakened?"

Cordis nodded and replied.

"Yes, but there's a risk. If something goes wrong, you could die."

At that, Kurapika grabbed Cordis's only remaining hand.

"Cordis, awaken my Nen!"

"Huh?"

Didn't I just tell him? This stuff could kill him if it went wrong. Was he deaf, or had I not made myself clear enough?

Cordis pulled his hand back, his expression serious.

"I already told you, someone could die if this goes wrong. I don't want to kill anyone before I've even become a Hunter."

But Kurapika seemed determined to turn a deaf ear to him and refused to listen.

Judging by his stance.

He looked ready to say, If you don't awaken my Nen, you're not fucking leaving today.

Cordis shook his head helplessly and tried to persuade him again.

"You'll awaken your Nen sooner or later. Why rush?"

Kurapika immediately countered.

"I can't wait any longer. My people haven't left me time to wait, and I don't want to keep waiting!"

Kurapika's scarlet eyes glowed red in the dim light of early morning.

Seeing how determined Kurapika was, Cordis could only nod helplessly and agree.

Cordis activated Ren.

He released all the aura within him.

Cordis placed his hand on Kurapika's shoulder.

As the aura continued to build, Kurapika felt an endless surge of power erupting from his body.

Forcibly awakening someone's Nen demanded a high level of Nen proficiency from the person performing it.

It demanded even more from the recipient's physical constitution.

If the recipient's body was even slightly too weak, they could burst apart and die on the spot.

In truth, Cordis knew very little about Kurapika's physical constitution.

That was why he had initially refused to help awaken Kurapika's Nen.

But now, it seemed he had worried too much.

Kurapika was fully capable of enduring the forced awakening.

But that also meant.

Kurapika might become even stronger than he had been in the original story.

Was that a good thing for Kurapika?

As a mysterious power continued to pour out of Kurapika's body.

He was finally ready to officially enter the Hunter profession.

Seeing the aura surrounding Kurapika.

Cordis instructed him.

"Try drawing the aura around you back in."

Kurapika watched the aura surrounding him, followed by an intense wave of exhaustion.

"Hurry and pull your aura back in, or you'll exhaust yourself to death."

Hearing that, Kurapika didn't dare delay.

With a few simple pointers from Cordis, Kurapika quickly mastered the most basic form of Nen.

Kurapika certainly deserved his place among the four main characters.

With that speed of progress.

Even Cordis had to call him a genius.

Of course, he still fell a little short of a monster like Cordis, who had gained a Nen Ability the moment his Nen awakened.

Kurapika felt the entirely new sensations coursing through his body.

I seem stronger. No! Much stronger.

I'm one step closer to revenge.

Kurapika looked at Cordis before him and thanked him.

"Thank you, Cordis. I don't even know how to thank you. Looks like I owe you another favor."

Cordis merely shrugged indifferently.

"Plenty of people owe me favors. One more won't make a difference. You'll need to find a professional for the next part, though. Don't come to me. I don't really understand it either."

Cordis was being completely honest.

Being good at learning and being good at teaching were two different things.

If he only had to study on his own, that was easy.

But if he had to teach someone else...

That really was a little difficult.

For something this specialized, it was best to find a professional after all.

With that, Cordis returned to his room.

He had originally planned to take a casual stroll outside.

It seemed that wasn't happening now.

All he could do was lean by the window alone and admire the scenery.

It really was worthy of being a hotel owned by the Fanchah Association.

The flowers, grass, and trees outside were all beautifully tended.

Before he knew it, morning had arrived.

Everyone gathered in a hall, waiting to receive their Hunter Licenses.

"Cordis! / Cordis!"

Cordis looked toward the voices.

Killua and Gon had already found seats and were waving at him.

"Cordis! Cordis! Sit next to me!"

As he spoke, Gon pulled Cordis toward his seat.

Killua wasn't happy about that and immediately wrapped his arms around Cordis's waist.

"No, no! Cordis, sit with me!"

Gon looked unhappy at that.

"You can't do that! Killua, I asked first!"

Hearing that, Killua pouted too.

"I came in a step ahead of you!"

From the looks of things, the two were about to start arguing.

With no other choice, Cordis instinctively patted Gon, who was right in front of him, and said.

"How about this? I'll sit in the middle, and you two can sit on either side of me."

Wouldn't that satisfy them both?

Gon thought for a moment, then quickly agreed to the suggestion.

But Killua, who was still hugging Cordis's waist, showed no intention of letting go.

Puzzled, Cordis looked down.

Killua's lips were pushed out in a huge pout. He was clearly unhappy.

His eyes blinked, big and bright like two beautiful gemstones.

Cordis didn't even need to think to know why Killua was upset.

He raised his hand and patted Killua's head too.

"Killua, you can sit on my left."

Having received a head pat too, Killua finally let go of Cordis's waist, satisfied.

Once Cordis and the others had found their seats.

More people gradually arrived in the hall.

Kurapika began looking around as soon as he entered.

His eyes lit up when he spotted Cordis.

He jogged over to him.

Seeing that there were no seats around Cordis, he had no choice but to sit in front of him.

After sitting down, he turned around and asked.

"Cordis, have you fully figured out that ability of yours?"

Cordis had actually been examining his ability whenever he had spare time.

He had more or less worked out how it functioned.

But there were still a few things he hadn't figured out.

Cordis answered honestly.

"More or less. Mostly, I've just been too busy. I haven't had any time to study it."

The next chapter will be an all-out romantic showdown.

Gon, Killua, Kurapika, Hisoka, and the rest will all appear.

So who will Cordis end up with in the end?

I'm not fucking telling you.

What are you gonna do about it?
