As Hisoka's blood began to circulate faster.
The wound on his chin gradually stopped bleeding, scabbed over, and finally shed its scab.
Hisoka took out a small mirror he carried with him and checked his reflection, finding none of the scabbing he had expected.
He looked at Cordis in amazement.
"I never knew you could do this, too~"
Cordis felt a little proud at that, but still feigned modesty.
"There's plenty you don't know about me."
With that, the two continued on to the Fillmore Casino.
It was Cordis's first time visiting a casino, and he stared at the magnificent golden entrance before him.
The assortment of men and beautiful women left him momentarily at a loss.
Everyone wore formal evening gowns or expensive-looking suits.
Seeing that Hisoka beside him was also wearing a suit.
He couldn't stop grumbling inwardly.
He knew this was such a formal occasion, so why didn't he tell me beforehand? I'd have dressed up a little if I'd known.
Even if this does seem to be the only outfit I own.
Just as they were about to enter the casino, Hisoka suddenly slipped an arm around Cordis's slender waist.
Cordis's waist was his most sensitive spot.
He grabbed Hisoka's wandering hand and glared fiercely at him.
"Do you have a death wish?"
Hisoka helplessly turned his gaze elsewhere at that.
Cordis followed his gaze.
Only then did he notice that many people here seemed to have come in pairs, though most were men with a beautiful woman on their arm.
A few pairs, however, consisted of two men.
Hisoka suddenly leaned close to Cordis's ear and whispered.
"So I'll have to count on you tonight~❤"
Those words made Cordis blush involuntarily. He knew perfectly well that Hisoka was flirting, but there was nothing he could do about him.
Once Cordis let go of his hand.
Hisoka wrapped his arm around Cordis's waist as though it were only natural.
He seemed to be in a good mood, even humming a little tune.
Cordis, however, was in a far less pleasant mood, scowling the entire way inside.
Once the two had entered.
Cordis finally understood what true extravagance looked like.
An enormous golden pig hung overhead, and the building spanned nearly a thousand square meters across three floors.
Each floor was packed with gambling tables.
Here, huge sums of cash seemed worth no more than dirt.
Money lay discarded everywhere.
Only then did Cordis realize how insignificant the three hundred million he had to repay was in this place.
Every gambling table here held at least a billion.
And this was only the first floor. There were another two above it, where the stakes were beyond anything he could imagine.
Seeing Cordis's astonished expression, Hisoka kept an arm around his waist and asked with a smile.
"Pai Pai~ Which table would you like to start at?~"
Watching people casually pull out millions at a time, Cordis couldn't help worrying about Hisoka's wallet.
He had sensed it just now.
There were at least a hundred Nen users throughout the casino.
Every one of them was formidable. Some were guests here for fun, while others were security guards watching over the casino.
Even the two guards at the entrance were Nen users.
And Cordis's instincts told him there was definitely more to this place than met the eye!
Losing all their money would be the least of their worries.
If they ended up owing the casino money and a hundred Nen users came charging at them.
Even a god might not escape unscathed.
Cordis glanced around and asked cautiously.
"How much money did you bring?"
Hisoka smiled at Cordis, then put on an innocent expression.
"Huh?~ None~ Not a single penny~"
"What!"
His shout was loud enough to draw quite a few people's attention.
Everyone turned to look at Cordis.
Noticing this, Cordis discreetly reached over and pinched Hisoka hard on the waist.
But judging by Hisoka's expression, it had no effect on him, as though he couldn't feel pain.
He simply kept smiling at Cordis.
Once Cordis had calmed himself down.
He asked in a low voice.
"You don't have any fucking money, so why come here to learn to gamble? Hurry up and go home!"
Hisoka shook his head helplessly at that, as if Cordis still had far too much to learn.
He glanced around and said.
"Who says you can't gamble without money?~ Look at the first floor. How many people here are rich?~"
Cordis looked around at his words.
At first, he had been drawn to the hundreds of millions in banknotes on the tables.
He hadn't paid any attention to the people sitting at them.
He had simply assumed they were people in bespoke suits, potbellied old men, or sexy women with cigarettes between their lips.
After Hisoka's reminder.
Cordis finally snapped out of it and took another look.
Only then did he realize that the people sitting at those tables were nothing like old men in suits.
They were unshaven people in ragged clothes, some even sitting at the tables in nothing but their underwear.
Every one of them had a cigarette between their lips.
They savored the thrill of gambling alongside the pleasure of smoking.
The people in bespoke suits and the beautiful women in evening gowns he had seen outside were all heading up the central staircase to the second floor.
Cordis couldn't quite understand what he was seeing.
Noticing this, Hisoka explained.
"This has always been the rule at the Fillmore Casino."
Then he pointed toward an enormous gambling table in the center, where a man sat with a cigar between his lips.
The man alone was bigger than two people put together, and dozens of beautiful women surrounded him.
"He's the ruler of the first floor. You can only enter the second floor if you beat him at gambling."
Cordis looked in the direction Hisoka was pointing.
Unsurprisingly, that man was a Nen user, too.
"So he's your target tonight, then?"
Hisoka snapped his fingers at that.
"Bingo~ Who knew Pai Pai could be so clever sometimes?~"
Cordis glared wide-eyed at Hisoka and snapped angrily.
"Bastard! What's that supposed to mean?"
Hisoka didn't answer, simply walking toward the central gambling table.
Cordis muttered a couple more curses under his breath before following him.
The man before them had a cigar between his lips, and his gambling table was covered in all kinds of food. He used both hands to cram whatever he could into his mouth.
An assortment of beautiful women surrounded him.
Hisoka walked to the opposite side of the table and plopped down in a chair.
The man's eyes lit up with delight when someone finally came to sit across from him.
He stopped just as he was about to stuff more food into his mouth.
He stared at Hisoka with a crazed expression and said.
"Hello there. Let me introduce myself first. My name is Bowenbo. So happy to see you!"
As he spoke, food kept falling out of his mouth. Bowenbo's food and saliva left the entire gambling table reeking.
Cordis only caught up then. Seeing that the seat was already taken, he had no choice but to stand beside Hisoka.
The instant Bowenbo saw Cordis.
He puckered his lips and cheered over and over, as though he had discovered some rare treasure.
Two chapters today.
I got a little too carried away playing on my phone today.
I completely forgot to update.
I'll continue tonight.
