"That's pretty amazing. Sorry in advance for the trouble if I need your help again."
Saitama reached around and scratched his back. He didn't feel any different.
"Yeah. I'll go take a shower first. Do you have any other plans today?"
Bai Ye nodded as he spoke.
"Nope. If no monsters show up, I just want to lie around reading manga or playing games."
At that, Saitama suddenly remembered something. "Oh, right. Bai Ye, are you interested in games?"
"They're all right. I used to play quite a bit."
Bai Ye replied.
"Perfect. I'll bring my games over to your place in a bit."
Saitama immediately suggested it.
As for Saitama himself, he hadn't even broken a sweat, so he naturally had no need to shower in the middle of the day.
Bai Ye, on the other hand, was already drenched in sweat. Breaking through his limits had utterly exhausted him.
"Sure."
Bai Ye agreed.
Playing games with Master Saitama might look like a waste of time, but he actually wanted to see whether beating Master Saitama at a game would earn him a reward.
If he could get a reward, then it definitely wouldn't count as wasting time.
Even if he couldn't, that was fine too, since he also wanted to try this world's games. Things were much like Japan in the world he'd lived in before transmigrating, with physical game discs and handheld consoles still popular.
"We got lost twice, but I still had plenty of fun today."
Saitama sighed contentedly as they headed down the stairs from the rooftop.
"...As long as you had fun."
Bai Ye agreed, his smile carrying a hint of helplessness.
Plenty of fun...?
Bai Ye couldn't help marveling inwardly.
His all-out effort had been nothing more than a casual game to Master Saitama.
But precisely because his opponent was Master Saitama, he didn't feel defeated or the slightest bit discouraged.
When Bai Ye stepped out of the bathroom after his shower, he found that Saitama had already hooked the game up to the TV and was waiting for him.
Those physical disc games generally used the TV as their display.
"Done showering? Come play, then."
Saitama patted the cushion beside him. He'd brought both cushions over himself.
"Sure. Let me dry my hair first."
Once Bai Ye had dried his hair, he sat beside Saitama and picked up a controller.
"This is a fighting game I've always loved playing. Want me to teach you?"
Saitama grew a little excited.
After playing against computer opponents for so long, he finally had a chance to face a real person.
"No need. I know a thing or two about these games."
Bai Ye shook his head slightly.
One glance at the game screen told him it was the same sort of game as The King of Fighters and Street Fighter from his previous life. Those games were so iconic that he still remembered them vividly, even though he'd only played them as a young child.
At first, Bai Ye didn't deactivate his Mangekyō Sharingan.
The result was... he utterly demolished Saitama in the game...
He still knew the basic controls for this type of game, and his Mangekyō Sharingan's abilities proved useful while gaming too, so he thrashed Saitama in their very first match.
[Ding! The host has defeated Saitama at gaming. Reward obtained: 10 points!]
The system awarded far fewer points this time, showing that it knew beating Saitama at a game wasn't particularly difficult and had adjusted the reward accordingly.
Saitama's mouth twitched slightly. He hadn't expected Bai Ye to demolish him right out of the gate.
He'd just offered to teach Bai Ye how to play, only for Bai Ye to turn around and crush him.
If you told Saitama he was weak, he'd merely give you an indifferent smile. But if you told him he sucked at games, he might actually get worked up.
"So you're that good at games, huh? Then I'd better get serious too."
Saitama immediately shifted into his serious art style, seemingly determined to show Bai Ye what his gaming skills looked like when he got serious.
Bai Ye also realized he'd gone a little overboard. He quietly deactivated his Mangekyō Sharingan and played against Saitama using only his Three-Tomoe Sharingan.
Yet a little while later...
"K.O.!"
Saitama lost to Bai Ye again, though at least this defeat wasn't as humiliating as the last.
That was because Bai Ye had not only deactivated his Mangekyō Sharingan this time, but also gone a little easy on him.
"Again!"
Saitama still refused to accept defeat.
"..."
Bai Ye silently deactivated even his Three-Tomoe Sharingan, returning his eyes to their normal black color.
Before they knew it, ten matches had gone by.
Master Saitama had lost all ten...
Bai Ye was already trying his best to go easy on him, but he couldn't make it too obvious. Even while holding back, he still won.
Saitama's gaming skills remained unchanged, while Bai Ye, as a new player, grew more familiar with the game and improved with every match.
Moreover, the perceptiveness and learning ability granted by his Mangekyō Sharingan hadn't disappeared completely even after he deactivated his Sharingan. Those abilities still far surpassed an ordinary person's.
The gap between his gaming skills and Saitama's kept widening, making it hard for him to lose even once. After all, he couldn't deliberately throw a match. If he made it too obvious and Master Saitama noticed, he certainly wouldn't be happy either.
After ten straight losses, Saitama's expression grew increasingly irritable.
But he had his own moral boundaries. No matter how badly he got thrashed in a game, he would never lash out and use violence against his opponent.
He would only sit there fuming to himself or vent his anger on monsters.
"I'm getting a little too worn out to keep playing, but you still seem full of energy, Mr. Saitama. How about we call it a day?"
Seeing this, Bai Ye spoke up.
"Oh, really? Then let's play again when we have time."
Saitama nodded without the slightest suspicion.
He went from an irritable hard-boiled egg to a Wall-nut drawn in a simple art style.
"I didn't expect to run into such a tough opponent today. I'm going home to practice right now. In a few days, I'll definitely beat you!"
Saitama was instantly brimming with fighting spirit.
Bai Ye could only respond with a smile.
Then Saitama gathered up his game disc and controllers to head home.
But when he reached the door, he suddenly stopped. "Oh, crap. I almost forgot my TV's broken. Guess there's nothing I can do about that. Bai Ye, could I borrow your TV...?"
"Of course. I don't watch much TV, so use it as much as you like."
Bai Ye nodded as he spoke.
"Great. I'll start practicing right now!"
Saitama sat back down in front of the TV.
While Saitama was in the middle of playing, a news bulletin suddenly appeared across the top of the TV screen.
It reported that A City had suddenly been hit by widespread explosions, with a suspected Demon-level or even Dragon-level disaster underway...
Seeing that A City was under a severe attack, Bai Ye immediately caught on. Could this be that Dragon-level monster, Vaccine Man?
P.S. This is today's fourth update, so asking for a gift isn't too much, right? Also, Saitama really can't fly. He relies on jumping, and a slightly serious jump can reach light speed (probably?). I couldn't remember very clearly, so my description wasn't quite right. I've now revised the relevant descriptions in the earlier sections.
