King turned a pleading gaze toward Josen, but Josen acted as though he had not seen it, lifting his scalding tea and draining it in one gulp.
"Well, you all know me."
"I have my work at the police station and my Hero activities to juggle. I'm really busy!"
"For something like teaching a disciple, you need someone with plenty of time, right?"
"Mm-hmm, that makes sense."
Looking thoughtful, Genos immediately nodded several times and jotted something down in his notebook.
The next moment, three pairs of eyes landed on a certain fellow who had been trying to enjoy the show.
"Hey, hey, hey, what are you all looking at me for?" Saitama's hair stood on end, and his face fell in alarm. "Quit joking around. I'm busy too, okay?"
"Oh, really?"
Josen poured himself another cup of tea and raised it to his lips, blowing on it elegantly. "Then tell us what you're busy with. For example?"
"For example..."
Saitama opened his mouth, then stalled until his face went red. "Looking for work, obviously! I've got to make a living too!"
Genos looked at Saitama, the least powerful-looking of the three, yet inexplicably had a thought.
If this man shaved off all that sparse hair, he would probably be very strong, wouldn't he?
-Strange. Why would I think that?
Shaking his head and putting that strange thought behind him, he said firmly, "No matter what, please take me as your disciple!"
Genos's tone remained sincere, his gaze fixed on Saitama directly across from him.
"If Master Josen and Master King really have no free time, Master Saitama would be perfectly fine too!"
Saitama instinctively gave him a dead-eyed look and quipped, "Why do I feel like I've become some second-rate item nobody wants? Wait, that's not what I meant!"
