"A very practical feature. Nice work."
Patting Genos's rock-hard shoulder, Josen encouraged him, "Keep at it. Head back and get some rest once you've finished cleaning up."
Genos remained perfectly still in his firing stance and said earnestly, "Yes, understood!"
The night passed without incident.
Early the next morning.
Josen emerged from the guest room with a yawn and happened to see Saitama and Genos carrying their shoes, about to dash down the corridor.
"Oh, Josen!"
Seeing Josen, the two slammed on their brakes in perfect sync.
Josen: ?
Utterly baffled, Josen stepped back to avoid an attack from the biohazard sneakers in Saitama's hands and asked, "What's going on? Where are you two heading so early?"
"Today's the supermarket's weekly sale!" Saitama marched in place at high speed, nearly making the floor smoke beneath his feet as he spoke. "But we need to stop by the Apartment first. We can use the exclusive sale coupons that came with the newspaper at home!"
"Oh, I see."
Only then did Josen remember the supermarket sale Saitama had been eagerly anticipating yesterday.
Time flew. Before he knew it, it was Saturday again.
Saitama asked, "Genos and I are going to run back to Z City. What about you, Josen? Coming back with us?"
"Me?"
Josen glanced at Genos behind Saitama, his face resolute as he performed high knees in sync with his teacher, and decided not to intrude on the master and disciple's time together. "I'll pass. I've got something to take care of in a bit anyway."
"Aw, no luck!"
Saitama sighed without a change in expression, then turned to Genos. "Looks like we're not getting a ride today. Genos, we'll run back as planned. Destination: Z City. Let's go!"
Genos nodded emphatically, his reply brimming with enthusiasm. "Yes, Master!"
