Xu Zhiqiu and Naraku returned to their room.
"Naraku, have all the Shikon Jewel Shards been collected now?" Xu Zhiqiu asked him.
Naraku sat down with an arm around her waist. "No. Apart from Kohaku's shard, there's still one missing."
"Hakudoshi has already found all the ones in this world. Where could that last shard be?" Xu Zhiqiu murmured.
Naraku slipped his arm around her shoulders. "We'll find it."
"You've already become a powerful demon through the Shikon Jewel's power. What else do you wish for?" Xu Zhiqiu asked, nestled against his chest.
Naraku fell silent. Through the Shikon Jewel's power, he had freed himself from Onigumo's heart, and his woman was by his side. He truly had no wishes left. He did not believe the jewel could grant wishes, either. Pure Spirit and Mōryōmaru could switch at any moment, and who knew what other spirits might be inside the Shikon Jewel?
He took out the large piece of the Shikon Jewel he had assembled. Only two shards remained before the jewel would be whole. Taking Xu Zhiqiu's hand, he placed the half jewel in her palm. "I'll leave it to you."
"Huh?" Xu Zhiqiu looked astonished. She stared at the hot potato in her hand, unable to understand why Naraku would give it to her. After all, he had worked so hard to create his little offspring to collect the Shikon Jewel Shards.
Naraku closed her fingers around it. "I've already obtained the Shikon Jewel's power, so the jewel itself is no longer of any use. Besides, you found most of its shards. You can decide what to do with it."
Xu Zhiqiu studied him cautiously. "Do you really mean that?"
Naraku's lips curved into a smile. "Qiu, don't you trust me?"
