Borrowing the Connection Again

"Tai, I finally figured out the Digivice's power." After climbing down from Kabuterimon, Izzy raised his Digivice and spoke to Tai.

"Huh? The Digivice's power?"

What did that mean? What was Izzy talking about? Wasn't the Digivice's power just to help Agumon and the others digivolve?

"The Digivice has the power to dispel darkness. It can help us win!" Izzy told Tai the conclusion he had reached while exploring the ruins.

"Now that you mention it..." Izzy's reminder suddenly brought back a memory. When Devimon and the others had cornered them, Tai's Digivice seemed to have emitted light too, purifying the Black Gears inside Leomon.

"Leomon, we're your targets, right? Then come and catch me if you can!" Convinced his guess was right, Tai walked toward Leomon with his Digivice in hand.

Was it about to happen? I had to seize this chance! Seeing Tai move, Zhou Zhu quietly had Wizardmon adjust his position.

"Tai, what are you trying to do?" Ever since Garurumon had been taken out of the fight, Matt had been forced to watch helplessly from the sidelines. Now, seeing what Tai was doing, his face filled with alarm.

That was Leomon, who had beaten both Garurumon and Greymon one after the other! Did Tai have a death wish?

"The DigiDestined? I'll defeat you!" Watching Tai approach, Leomon turned and raised the King of Beasts Sword, ready to slash at him.

At that moment, Tai raised his Digivice toward the controlled Leomon.

A dazzling light burst forth, just as it had that night when Leomon had cornered them.

At the same time, the data inside Wizardmon, who stood nearby, began surging at an incredible rate.

"So that's how it works!" Seeing how effective Tai's actions were, Matt followed his lead and raised his own Digivice.

Another dazzling light burst forth.

"Ooh, all this data-hahahahaha! It's going to overflow!" Feeling the changes inside Wizardmon, Zhou Zhu found his grin harder to suppress than an AK's recoil.

However, even though Wizardmon had now digivolved to Champion, his maximum data capacity had not increased by much. In mere moments, he was already struggling to hold it all. It looked like the data still needed to be transferred into Zhou Zhu, his humanoid hidden reserve of energy!

As Leomon roared, several Black Gears inside him were slowly forced out by the light from the Digivices.

"This is bad! I have to stop them!"

Watching from nearby, Ogremon immediately sensed trouble.

"Hmph, dream on! Mega Blaster!" Seeing Ogremon prepare to attack Tai and the others, Kabuterimon immediately moved to stop him.

Ogremon twisted aside to dodge Kabuterimon's attack, but in doing so, he lost his chance to stop Tai and the others.

"Yes! The Digivices' power won!" Seeing Leomon return to normal, Izzy waved his arms excitedly.

"Patamon, it's all right now. We won." Nearby, T.K. hugged the injured Patamon, delighted as well.

Seeing that Leomon had regained his senses, Ogremon knew the situation had turned against him. He slowly withdrew from the battlefield before anyone noticed.

The Village of Beginnings.

Beneath a large tree!

"I don't know when it started, but a rumor spread through the Digital World. It said that when the world was completely shrouded in darkness, chosen children would come here from another world to save the Digital World. Now File Island has been completely shrouded in darkness, and you arrived at just this time."

Seated beneath the large tree, Leomon told Tai and the others everything he knew about the legend.

"So we're those chosen children-the DigiDestined?" Even with Leomon's explanation, Tai was still a little bewildered. What kind of myth was this? Had someone known long ago that we were going to come to this world?

"But there's no proof that we're the DigiDestined, is there?" Matt remained skeptical of Leomon's claim.

"If that's really true, then once the darkness in the Digital World has been eliminated, will this world no longer need us?" After hearing Leomon's account of the legend, Izzy seemed to have thought of something.

What did he mean, it wouldn't need us anymore? That sounded pretty scary.

Mimi looked at Izzy with a hint of displeasure.

"If that happens, we might be able to return to the real world, Mimi." Seeing the confusion on her face, Izzy patiently explained.

"Huh? You're right. Zhou Zhu really doesn't have a Digivice." Only after Matt's reminder did Tai remember Zhou Zhu's situation.

"Hmm? He doesn't have a Digivice... Then that can only mean he isn't one of the DigiDestined." Leomon's understanding of things was very straightforward, and he answered Matt's question as though it were only natural.
