"T.K., you know how busy Dad is with work. I often cook dinner and wait for him to come home." Matt tried to comfort his little brother.
T.K. gazed pitifully at his brother with wide eyes. After a long while, he said, "Then why don't we go find Dad? It's on the way anyway."
Matt's expression changed drastically. "Absolutely not! Don't forget what happened four years ago!" he snapped.
Four years ago, on the second day after Digimon descended upon the real world, T.K. had resolutely run away from home to look for traces of the monsters. What happened afterward? Naturally, he had suffered plenty.
"But I'm not a little kid who can only cause trouble anymore. Digimon World was so dangerous, and we still made it out." T.K. had known exactly how his brother would react and gave Matt no chance to continue.
Although humans were a hundred times more calculating than Digimon, that very tendency meant they rarely abandoned all pretense and fought to the death outright. To Digimon, however, the outcome of a battle weighed on their consciences no more than crushing a swarm of ants underfoot would weigh on a human's. Besides, in the human world, powerful weapons were generally in the hands of rational people, whereas every single Digimon in Digimon World possessed powerful special moves.
"In that case, maybe we really could give it a try." Matt realized it too. He was now perfectly capable of holding his own in the adult world. In fact, viewed the other way around, most ordinary people were not even qualified to hold their own in his world. At that thought, Zheng Fan's figure flashed through Matt's mind.
"Beiyue, after you, I won't dare take on another intern." Uryu Ishida and Zhao Beiyue sat opposite each other in
