The battle ended. Once they confirmed there was no further danger, Tentomon and the others returned through the Gate to the Digimon World to recuperate. Veemon and the others remained in the Human World to keep watch.
Just as everyone breathed a sigh of relief, the entire world suddenly went pitch-black. The darkness lasted only an instant, however. When the sunlight returned, they found a cloaked figure standing in front of the bus. Though the figure radiated a pitch-black, evil aura, it lacked the icy chill of an evil Digimon. Instead, it resembled a scorching fireball that might explode at any moment.
"Who are you? What do you want?" Oura demanded. At the same time, Veemon evolved into Veemon EX and charged at the stranger. Yet with a casual wave, the stranger seized Veemon EX by the neck, then flung him away just as effortlessly.
"Well, Chosen Children. I have come because there is something very important for which I need young Ken Ichijouji's help. I hope you will cooperate with me, young Ken." Although the stranger was asking for help, the tone was utterly obnoxious. Yet none of them felt the slightest anger. A voice inside warned them not to provoke this stranger under any circumstances.
"Demon, a Mega Digimon from the Dark World, representing wrath among the Seven Great Demon Lords. I never imagined you could keep your emotions under control." The Digimon before them was not a mindless creature, but someone they could communicate with. Izzy Izumi hoped to take the lead in the negotiations.
"I can only exercise a little control over myself. Since you know who I am, I hope you will grant my request." There was a hint of laughter in Demon's voice, but those who heard it felt a profound threat of death.
