While everyone celebrated, Iori ran back into the Thoughtscape and dug Oikawa Yukio out of some pile of rubble.
"Mr. Oikawa, please hold on a little longer. The Digimon are just ahead. You'll be in the Digimon World soon." Iori carried Oikawa Yukio on his back, offering words of encouragement. At the sight, Oura and the others started to say something, then closed their mouths.
The weakened Oikawa Yukio raised his head and looked through the barrier between worlds. Disappointment crossed his face as he saw the world beyond. "Is this the Digimon World? Why is it so desolate? Where are the flowers? The green grass? The gentle breeze? Why aren't there any Digimon wandering freely?"
At those words, Oura could no longer hold back. He ran over, hauled Oikawa Yukio up, and pushed his head toward the view. "Enough. Look at this Digimon World. Do you know how beautiful it used to be? It was your plan that turned it into this. Without everyone's efforts, the Digimon World would have been destroyed. And now you're complaining that it isn't the world you imagined? You destroyed that world yourself."
Everyone watched Oikawa Yukio with aching hearts, but no one stopped Oura. Sorrow? Hatred? Everyone had the right to resent Oikawa Yukio-everyone except the Chosen Children.
"So this was all my fault." The last of Oikawa Yukio's strength vanished, and he collapsed to the ground.
"Oura, stop. Oikawa Yukio is already dying." Genai spoke up, having arrived at some point without anyone noticing.
"What's wrong with chasing a dream? The Chosen Children pursue their dreams. Ordinary children do, too. Oikawa Yukio pursued his dream, and Myotismon was also a victim of dreams. If we had seen the longing in Myotismon's eyes back then, perhaps none of this would have happened." Genai
