Zheng Fan did not take the initiative to attack Etemon either. Passive defense was not a sword cultivator's style, but he could not defeat Etemon and still had to buy time for Tai and the others. Holding his ground was his only option. Etemon was happy to drag things out as well. Those children could not escape his grasp anyway.
