"There look to be dozens of civilians. Those two actually held out this long on their own..." Jean said in shock.
"We need to pick up the pace." Hange furrowed her brow and flicked the reins, urging her horse onward.
Chen Si looked toward the twenty-odd Titans in the distance, his brow creasing slightly. Even without his memories, he had more or less pieced together the situation. For some reason, the horde before him seemed to draw him toward them, exerting a strange allure.
Chen Si noticed someone staring intently at him. Turning his head, he saw Floch watching him with worry and terror written all over his face.
"Floch. Your name is Floch, right?" Chen Si asked quietly.
"Yes, Lord... Chen Si..." Floch answered, startled.
"I noticed you keep looking at me. You must know me fairly well. Do you know anything about my abilities?" Chen Si asked.
Everyone listened closely to what Floch had to say.
"I might not know the specifics... but I once saw Mikasa use lightning power too. I don't know how that worked either," Floch said slowly.
Mikasa paused at his words. Thinking back carefully to when she and Floch had been surrounded by Titans, she remembered that a violent surge of energy really had appeared inside her, making her desperate to release it.
"After Mikasa used lightning power to kill the Titans, she passed out. Then I saw you..." Floch glanced hesitantly at Historia. Should I keep his secret...? Christa could very well be the future queen.
"Prepare your Vertical Maneuvering Equipment!" Hange suddenly shouted.
Everyone immediately drew their blades and stood on their horses, ready to launch.
"Survey Corps, Chen Si Squad, attack!" At Hange's command, everyone launched into the air together.
