"Armin!" Eren's voice rang out.

"Everyone!" Historia flew over from the side as well.

"I killed someone... She was clearly hesitating about whether to shoot, but I fired first." Jean stared at his hands in disbelief.

"Jean?" Eren looked puzzled. Seeing the corpse on the ground, his heart grew heavy too.

"Jean! Someone who can't give anything up can't change anything! Pull yourself together! This wasn't your fault!" Armin shouted.

"The targets got out!" a loud voice called from the distance, followed by a shot into the air.

Ten members of the Central Military Police immediately came flying straight toward them. They truly were the elite of the elite, reacting with astonishing speed. Their coordination was every bit as good as that of the Survey Corps' finest.

"Run!" Armin shouted.

The six of them quickly operated their Vertical Maneuvering Equipment and flew away. A hail of bullets pursued them, and the carriage shattered in an instant.

Cables crisscrossed between the buildings as they hurtled forward, but the elite Central Military Police were much faster.

"This is bad! They're catching up!" Jean shouted.

"We're done for! There are Military Police up ahead too!" Sasha spotted several more closing in from the front.

Eren suddenly took a bullet in the back, spat out a mouthful of blood, and fell.

"Eren!" Armin went pale with shock and immediately retracted his grappling hooks to drop after him. Seeing their escape blocked from both directions and Eren injured, the others jumped down too.

Watching the Central Military Police close in from both sides, Armin was frantic, his eyes filled with terror.

"Get inside!" Just then, the door of a church-like building beside them opened, and a man wearing a Church of Thunder uniform shouted to them.

Armin immediately picked up Eren and rushed inside.
