"Kenny... why did you take care of me back then, and why did you abandon me?" Levi asked the questions that had haunted him his entire life.
"I wanted to take care of you, Levi. You were the only thing my younger sister left behind, but I couldn't be a father." Kenny smiled, finally at peace.
"Kenny..." Levi's pupils contracted slightly, then he, too, found some peace.
"Maybe you've found someone more reliable than me to follow, Levi. Hey, false god, I have one last wish. Think you can grant it?" Kenny said, looking at Chen Si.
"Go ahead." Chen Si took no offense at Kenny calling him a false god. After hearing what Kenny had said, he felt a newfound respect for him. The man had guts.
"What does it feel like to possess that kind of power?" A trace of longing and nostalgia shone in Kenny's eyes.
"When I become the strongest in the world, I'll answer that question. Right now, I'm not the strongest yet," Chen Si said slowly.
"You're saying you can get even stronger... heh. Is that how the strong think? Doesn't seem all that different from me." A little surprised, Kenny gave a self-mocking smile, closed his eyes, and pulled the trigger.
Levi closed his eyes slightly and turned his head away, unable to watch, his fists clenched.
But no gunshot rang out.
Kenny opened his eyes and stared at the gun in his hand, baffled.
"Heh, even suicide takes me two tries. God really is playing a joke on me. Is this a test of my courage?" Kenny checked the gun and found it was broken, then picked up another.
Chen Si kicked the gun out of Kenny's hand.
Levi looked at Chen Si in surprise, a hopeful suspicion forming in his mind.
