Zeke, who had been sitting cross-legged atop the southernmost stretch of Wall Rose, suddenly stood and stared deep into Wall Sina, sensing a faint stirring in his blood.
"What is it, Warrior Commander?" Reiner stood as well and asked. Following Zeke's gaze, he saw a vast expanse of city streets and suddenly froze. Does the Warrior Commander want to slaughter these residents? At the thought, Reiner clenched his fists slightly.
"Time to move, Reiner. Let's wipe out the Survey Corps." With that, Zeke leaped from the wall. A thick bolt of yellow lightning pierced the heavens, and the Beast Titan appeared.
Reiner breathed a sigh of relief. Wipe out the Survey Corps, huh... He watched the Beast Titan below the wall begin gathering the Pure Titans under his control. He couldn't turn into the Armored Titan just yet. Zeke's Beast Titan had greater endurance and could even speak, making his movements little different from when he was human. Reiner still needed to conserve his strength.
"Chen Si, let's settle this once and for all." Reiner, too, gazed deeper into Wall Rose.
Wall Sina, Royal Capital, Central Military District Headquarters, Military Hospital.
"How could this happen... how could this happen... Chris..." Mike knelt beside Chris's hospital bed, sobbing uncontrollably.
"Mike..." Gelgar stared in shock at the man before him, who seemed nothing like his usual self.
Nanaba looked at Gelgar and shook her head. Understanding, Gelgar shut his mouth.
Petra placed a damp towel on Chris's forehead, her expression downcast.
Elderdin and Gunther stood to one side, their faces grave.
"What kind of battle could have left Chris hurt this badly..." Gunther asked through gritted teeth, sweat beading on his face.
"And the captain didn't even call us in for a battle like that." Elderdin clenched his fists in frustration.
