Chen Si walked through the hospital gates and surveyed his surroundings. Most of the people here seemed to be Eldia people. Many patients were out walking, young and old alike, wearing all kinds of bandages, some with bloodstains on their bodies.
A bench stood outside the Inpatient Building. A long-haired man sat on it, his eyes wrapped in bandages and one leg missing. Chen Si looked closer and recognized Eren. Falco stood beside him, apparently chatting with him.
Eren had still chosen to infiltrate Marley this way.
Chen Si was considering whether to make contact with Eren now, but he noticed several guard posts near the hospital, all manned by members of the Malayan Public Security Bureau. There were also Marley Security Officers patrolling nearby, seemingly because the hospital served Eldia people.
"Please, save my child!"
Chen Si turned toward the voice. An elderly woman holding a baby knelt in front of the Inpatient Building, pleading, her face full of anguish and desperation.
A nurse hurrying past darted away from the elderly woman as though avoiding the plague. The woman kept shuffling forward on her knees and begging, but everyone evaded her. No one paid her any attention.
Just then, a male doctor in a white coat emerged from the Inpatient Building with a stack of documents under his arm. Seeing the elderly woman still kneeling before him, he sighed.
"I'm very sorry, Mrs. Guss. Your son deserted the battlefield while serving as a soldier in the Eldia Warrior Unit. That is an unforgivable crime in Marley. Our hospital cannot admit anyone from your family. I hope you understand."
"No! Please, my grandson shouldn't have to bear my son's sins! Director Troy! My grandson is innocent. Please save him! He's only just come into this world!" Mrs. Guss knelt on
