"It's raining. I wonder what Hitch is doing right now." Marlowe stretched and looked out the window at the dark clouds gradually swallowing the light on the horizon.
"I'll write her a letter." The corners of Marlowe's mouth lifted slightly. He picked up paper and a pen, sat upright at his desk, and began writing.
A short while later, Marlowe let out a deep breath and carefully slipped the letter into an envelope before sealing it.
Boom! A thunderclap rang out. Lightning flashed, briefly illuminating the pitch-black night sky.
Marlowe jumped in fright and hurried to the window, thinking something had happened that had forced Chen Si to act.
