"Bang!" Gal hurled half of Eren's body away as a Black-Gold Beam shot twenty kilometers into the sky. The Titan's body shattered completely, and Eren flew out of its nape and plummeted.
Hange's pupils trembled. Even their last hope had been crushed.
Gal turned his gaze toward Historia again.
"It's finally our turn. Everything we inflicted on Marley has come back to us. Was Eren's method truly the only way to save Paradis Island?"
At that moment, Hange couldn't help recalling something Chen Si had once said.
"If a train reached a junction, with us in the Survey Corps on one track and innocent residents of the Marley Continent on the other, you could change its direction by pulling a lever. People would die whichever track it took. Which way would you send it?" Chen Si had asked Hange.
Clutching her head, Hange growled in anguish, "No! Genocide is a crime against humanity, and it's wrong no matter what! The Survey Corps was founded to fight for all humanity! There must be another way!"
"If we'd treated Marley kindly back then, how could we have ended up like this... We've become true sinners..."
"Hum!"
Hange instinctively looked up. A dazzling golden light descended from the sky and landed amid the formation of 120,000 Soviet Army troops in the distance. In an instant, it became an expanding pillar of light, reducing every Soviet soldier, tank, and cannon in its path to dust.
Chen Si hovered in the air, looking at Gal in the distance.
"Where are Mikasa and Annie?"
"In my hands," Gal said indifferently. The words had barely left his mouth when he suddenly lost almost all sensation of his body. His twenty-meter frame began disintegrating inch by inch, as though evaporating.
Dazzling golden light erupted from Chen Si's eyes
