Mr. Ackerman managed to pull his leg free of the wolf's jaws. He suddenly realized he possessed strength unlike anything he had ever felt before, just like the power his elders had once spoken of.
At that moment, a ring of light suddenly appeared in the eyes of Eren, who had been standing silently nearby. Mr. Ackerman abruptly lost his strength and collapsed.
"Dad!" Mikasa hurried forward to help Mr. Ackerman up, her eyes filled with tears.
Mr. Ackerman felt the strength from a moment ago suddenly fade, leaving him somewhat disappointed. Still, his right leg had suffered only superficial injuries. He had no idea that he really had activated his Ackerman power for an instant.
"Mikasa, don't tell your mother I hurt my leg. Sneak inside first and bring me a fresh pair of pants," Mr. Ackerman instructed.
Chen Si watched closely and noticed that Mr. Ackerman seemed to have returned to his previous state. The ring of light that had flashed in Eren's eyes made him afraid to follow that thought any further.

"That's right. I stripped him of his Ackerman bloodline," Eren said with utter calm.
"Why?" Chen Si asked.
Eren said nothing and walked forward. Chen Si followed him, and time seemed to accelerate in an instant. The two arrived on a road outside Mikasa's family's cabin.
In the bushes to one side, several human traffickers were creeping closer, their eyes fixed on the cabin.
Killing intent surged in Chen Si's eyes when he saw the three traffickers.
Just then, the cabin door opened. "Young Chen Si" walked out with a shovel in his hands, accompanied by Mr. Ackerman, and they looked around.
Chen Si was bewildered. Why hadn't he noticed the traffickers back then? He turned and saw something he could hardly believe.
