"Is this another curious invention Lady Shingetsu came up with?"
Inside the Uchiha Clan Compound, several elderly Uchiha sat around playing Konoha Cards, chattering as they played.
"Seems she made it with that little dunce Kazuma. And you know what? It really is fun!"
These old folks might have been playing cards and chatting now, but in their youth, every one of them had been a terror on the battlefield. They were older now, but still young at heart, with plenty of strength and energy to spare.
But now the Uchiha Clan had money, food, and power. With Konoha's rise, peace had settled over the shinobi world, and their clansmen no longer needed to risk their lives on the battlefield. Yet after growing so used to rushing about and fighting bloody battles, the Uchiha found themselves at a loss when they suddenly had nothing to do.
The young could still find work in the village, but the older generation was bored to death. Those with a trade could open a little shop to pass the time. The rest of the old geezers had nothing to do but gather every day to gossip and pester the younger generation about marriage.
But the moment Konoha Cards came out, these bored old folks found their entertainment. They became so absorbed in playing that they no longer worried about having nothing to do, and now gathered every day for card games.
"Take my Great Fire Annihilation!"
An old Uchiha man tossed down a card with a flourish. After gleefully knocking off half his opponent's health, he smugly stroked his silvery beard. Then, as though something had suddenly occurred to him, he turned to his fellow players and eagerly launched into gossip.
"Seriously, that child Shingetsu is so clever, and she's full of crafty ideas.
