Power Progression

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Intensive training begins at age four 2 Madara establishes a demanding regimen of physical training, lessons, and chakra exercises, consistently pushing her to her limits.
Sharingan and Mystic Eyes of Death Perception acquired 9 Two glowing blue eyes grow on the God Tree in her consciousness and merge with her original eyes, awakening her ocular powers.
One-tomoe Sharingan revealed in combat 16 Cornered by Hiruzen and Enma, she activates the eyes she had been instructed to conceal. Combined perception lets her cut the Water Dragon Bullet Technique’s death line.
Body and bloodline adaptation 19 After nearly a week of chakra extraction, the God Tree returns energy that modifies her body and purifies her bloodline to better support her eyes. The process remains incomplete.
Wood Release and Sage Body awakened 39 41 Her deepening connection with the God Tree triggers a forest eruption during the orphanage attack. Her wounds heal, and her chakra reserves increase substantially, but the tree’s subsequent drain nearly kills her.
Two-tomoe Sharingan documented 42 Two tomoe are visible when she briefly opens her eyes during Hashirama’s chakra transfer.
Conscious Wood Release use 43 After nearly a month unconscious, she deliberately restores dying plants and grows strawberries. A newly awakened power also heals her weakened body and suppresses her Sharingan’s rampage.
Large-scale fruit-tree creation 47 During Hashirama’s lesson, she uses a Snake Hand Seal and visualization to raise an orchard. The expenditure leaves her dizzy.
Improved Wood Release control 48 Repeatedly weaving vine baskets improves her control over chakra, vine dimensions, and growth direction.

Background / History

Shingetsu is a transmigrator who retains memories of a previous life. Before arriving in the world of Naruto, she had watched only a few episodes, leaving her with limited rather than comprehensive foreknowledge. She recognizes the dangers of future shinobi wars and the Uchiha massacre, but the original story’s main events are still roughly fifty years away 1 4 5.

Her parents were longtime battlefield enemies whose mutual concern developed into affection after the Senju–Uchiha alliance. They conceived her after Konoha’s founding but did not marry. Madara overpowered both parents, claimed the right to choose her surname and given name, and took her as his disciple 1 10.

Shingetsu grew up in the Uchiha Clan Compound, with her maternal ancestry concealed from the wider village. Hōkaku initially refused to let her roam Konoha because Tōka repeatedly tried to take her home. Madara’s protection finally allowed her to leave the compound after she won a training wager 3. Her parentage became public following the orphanage attack, when Tōka identified herself as Shingetsu’s mother before the assembled clans 41 42.

Appearance

Shingetsu has a small child’s build, fair skin, delicate features, and an appearance strongly resembling the Uchiha side of her family 5 6 9.

  • Hair: Black, soft, and unruly, sticking out in different directions 3 9.
  • Eyes: Normally large and black, with upturned corners; her activated Sharingan is blood-red, marked with tomoe and an iridescent sheen 9 18.
  • Clothing: Usually wears a simple clan robe for ease of movement during training, despite owning a wardrobe of elaborate clothes and jewelry 47.
  • Distinctive accessory: A fitted chakra-metal bangle given to her by Madara 47.

Personality

Shingetsu combines adult-like political awareness with openly childish habits. She questions village development, clan strategy, and the exploitation of civilians, yet also begs Madara to carry her, struggles to get out of bed, and tries to bargain for candy. Although she dislikes his punishing training, she recognizes the limits of her own achievements: after winning their wager, she admits that his Sharingan would have exposed her tricks 3 5 8 10 23.

Her loyalty centers on her master, family, and clan rather than unquestioning obedience to Konoha. She wants to become a top-tier fighter who can help them, but rejects the idea that shinobi should live merely as tools. Her criticism of the Will of Fire concerns what happens when protecting the village demands harming family and friends—not a simple rejection of Hashirama’s desire for peace 5 11 12.

Her compassion becomes practical assistance. She returns most of the fish her father gives her, shares sweets with classmates and orphanage children, and pursues farming because people need enough to eat. Learning of Kazuko’s suffering turns her dissatisfaction with the political order into sustained anger toward the daimyō and nobles 8 21 22 28.

She is deeply afraid of dying, but pride can prevent her from surrendering. Under severe stress, her ocular powers and negative emotions intensify an urge to kill and destroy. Actual killing still unsettles her: after burning Ji to death, she becomes pale and trembles at what her hands have done 16 18 39.

Abilities & Skills

Chakra Reserves and Sage Body

Her Senju inheritance gives her unusually large chakra reserves even before her Sage Body awakens 3 11.

  • Creates dozens of clones at five, a feat Madara acknowledges exceeds what he could do at that age 3.
  • Has reserves Tobirama considers exceptional even compared with Senju and Uzumaki children of the same age 11.
  • After awakening her Sage Body, gains substantially greater reserves and regeneration sufficient to heal the wounds inflicted during the orphanage attack 41.
  • Remains vulnerable to exhaustion: even her enhanced reserves cannot satisfy the God Tree’s emergency chakra demands 41.

Sharingan

Her Sharingan provides enhanced perception of movement and chakra flow; she can use its innate functions without invoking the Mystic Eyes 16 38.

  • Tracks projectile trajectories and helps her evade Ji’s sand-bullet barrage 38.
  • Detects chakra associated with the orphanage’s hidden spy and scouting technique 38.
  • Combines with the Mystic Eyes to make approaching attacks appear slowed 16.
  • Can be forced to deactivate when poison disrupts her chakra circulation 39.

Mystic Eyes of Death Perception

The eyes produced by the God Tree allow Shingetsu to perceive and cut “death lines,” manifestations of an existence’s lifespan. Cutting them ends that existence rather than merely damaging it 9 18.

  • Targets: Tested on rocks, trees, animals, buildings, chakra, and ninjutsu constructs 18.
  • Combat: Dismantles Hiruzen’s water dragon with a broken wooden sword and cuts sand bullets she cannot evade 16 38.
  • Poison removal: Kills the poison inside the wounded Chinatsu during the orphanage battle 39.
  • Irreversible effects: Madara cannot heal animals whose death lines she has cut with Medical Ninjutsu 18.
  • Exclusive interaction: Madara cannot reproduce the effect by cutting along lines she identifies 18.
  • Costs: Causes headaches, nausea, mental revulsion, and destructive impulses. The Sharingan’s ocular power partly eases the pain 18.
  • Physical limitation: Seeing a death line does not guarantee she can reach it; when Di pins her down, blood loss leaves her unable to make the cut 39.

God Tree Symbiosis

A God Tree sapling inhabits Shingetsu’s consciousness, consuming chakra and eventually providing powers and bodily modifications 7 18 19.

  • Initially drains her and nearby people without functioning as a usable chakra battery or granting Wood Release 7.
  • Produces the Mystic Eyes after absorbing substantial chakra and resonating with Hashirama’s Wood Release chakra 18.
  • Gradually alters her body to accommodate her ocular powers 19.
  • Absorbs Hashirama’s chakra and yang power during her rescue, allowing it to recover and grow 41 43.
  • Can drain both cellular and mental energy to dangerous levels, causing fever, exhaustion, unconsciousness, and near-fatal chakra depletion 19 41.

Wood Release

Shingetsu’s Wood Release accelerates plant growth and can produce fruit-bearing vegetation with unusual vitality 43 46.

  • Transforms the orphanage grounds into a forest during a desperate chakra eruption 39.
  • Restores dying potted plants and grows strawberries 43.
  • Creates trees to suspend Kazuma and Kaen upside down 46.
  • Raises an orchard containing multiple kinds of fruit and practices weaving baskets from vines 47 48.
  • Produces plants that continue growing without additional chakra; Tobirama’s tests confirm that their strawberries are edible 46.
  • Hashirama initially warns against eating Wood Release fruit, before testing establishes the properties of her plants 43 46.

Uchiha Swordsmanship and Fire Release

Madara teaches her the swordsmanship associated with his late brother Izuna. Her strengths are speed and technique rather than raw physical power 16 38.

  • Uchiha Style: Flame Leaping Sword: Coats her sword with Fire Release chakra for a high-speed attack 3.
  • Uchiha Style: Sun Halo Dance: Combines Body Flicker with Flame Leaping Sword to deliver three strikes in an instant 16.
  • Great Fireball Technique: Uses the C-rank technique during her Academy spar, deliberately limiting its lethality 14.
  • Dragon Fire Technique: Sends fire along steel wire to burn the trapped Ji 38.
  • Limits: Her five-year-old body lacks the strength and stamina of the older Hiruzen; prolonged close combat leaves her arms numb and aching 15 16.

Ninja Fundamentals and Tactics

Shingetsu uses basic techniques, tools, and deception together rather than relying exclusively on her bloodline abilities 3 15 38.

  • Combines Body Flicker and Substitution to evade attacks and counter from behind 15.
  • Uses clones and a leaf disguise to force Madara to break the conditions of their training wager 3.
  • Employs Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique, though Hiruzen breaks it before she exploits the opening 15.
  • Demonstrates precise kunai and shuriken throwing and uses Sharingan Windmill Triple Blade to bind Ji with wire 13 14 38.
  • Sets traps throughout the orphanage and deliberately draws an enemy into terrain suited to her plan 38.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Swords — Uses a long sword in training and at the orphanage; normally carries a short sword. During the Academy spar, Kagami supplies a wooden short sword that Enma breaks 3 15 16 38.
  • Ninja tool pouch and schoolbag — Stocked by Madara and Hōkaku with kunai, explosive tags, soldier pills, blood-enhancing pills, steel wire, and smoke bombs 38.
  • Tracking bangle — Custom-forged from chakra metal in Takumi Village. Its gemstone was shaped by Madara with Earth Release and infused with his chakra, allowing him to sense her approximate location 47.
  • Black cat plush — Carries it back to her room after bathing 9.

Relationships

  • Madara Uchiha — Master, protector, and naming authority. His discipline is severe, but she shows him unusually open affection. He regards her as a reason to remain in Konoha and hopes she will find a path toward genuine peace 1 2 3 5.
  • Uchiha Hōkaku — Biological father and indulgent guardian. He quits teaching after her dangerous spar and later fights those he believes threaten his unconscious daughter 1 2 18 46.
  • Senju Tōka — Biological mother. Initially separated from Shingetsu by the clans’ custody dispute; publicly claims her after the orphanage attack and later reunites with her in the Uchiha compound 1 41 46.
  • Hashirama Senju — Distant maternal relative, rescuer, and Wood Release teacher. Shingetsu initially fears that his unusual sense of closeness will expose her secrets; he later protects her family and supplies the chakra needed to save her 6 41 47 50.
  • Tobirama Senju — Academy teacher and source of intense fear and resentment. His arranged spar exposes her eyes, but he prevents her from killing Hiruzen, apologizes under pressure, and later investigates her Wood Release 13 18 24 46.
  • Yakushi Chinatsu — Close friend and orphanage resident. Their friendship develops through shared lessons and sweets; Chinatsu is wounded protecting her, and Shingetsu saves her by killing the poison in her body 13 28 29 39.
  • Uchiha Kagami — Protective clanmate whom she calls “big brother Kagami.” Helps get her to school, supplies her sword during the spar, and intervenes when Hiruzen pesters her 10 15 25.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi — Defeated sparring opponent and unwanted admirer. His repeated confessions and love poems irritate her; she firmly rejects any prospect of accepting him 24 25 29.
  • Kazuko — Refugee farmer and settlement collaborator. Her account of civilian suffering deepens Shingetsu’s understanding of noble exploitation 20 21.
  • Cat Granny and Kana — Agricultural supplier and ninja-cat messenger. Cat Granny sells her valuable rice seeds and farming equipment; Kana handles deliveries 30.
  • Senju Ryūju — Hashirama’s son, pressured by Senju elders to approach her for a prospective marriage alliance. He finds their intentions toward the child disgusting and resolves to stay away; Shingetsu does not understand the reason for his visit 49 50.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Academy Participation and Withdrawal

  • Advocates sending Uchiha students and teachers to the Academy even without control of the institution, arguing that refusing participation would surrender influence 8.
  • Challenges Kagami to consider whether village loyalty could require attacking loved ones; Hashirama overhears and begins questioning Konoha’s future 12 13.
  • Defeats Hiruzen in a spar that escalates into a life-threatening confrontation. Hōkaku withdraws the Uchiha children afterward 16 18.
  • Encourages Madara to accept a teaching position rather than reject schooling itself. After returning, sustained supervision gradually makes her an acknowledged top student 22 23 24 29.

Uchiha Farming Settlement

Development Details
Refugee settlement Provides homes, a shared storehouse, tools, plows, seeds, and prepared fields. Allocates land by household and offers to purchase specified crops at market prices 20.
Water supply Agrees to arrange wells and irrigation after Kazuko identifies the fields’ shortage 20.
Harvest share Sets the Uchiha share at 30%, compared with the daimyō’s 60% harvest tax 21.
First harvest In September of Konoha’s sixth year, the special rice yields an estimated 30–40% more than ordinary varieties 31.
Clan food supply Deliveries provide enough food to sustain the Uchiha for nearly half a year and reduce expenses 33.
Remaining costs The first year’s harvest does not repay the initial investment because a harvest season was missed; she expects two harvests the following year to recover costs 35.
Orphanage support Sends food to the Konoha Orphanage, fulfilling her earlier promise to help Chinatsu and the other children 28 36.

Orphanage Attack and Recovery

  • During a visit with Chinatsu, cuts apart Matron and reveals that the bloodless body was already dead 36.
  • Prepares traps, disrupts enemy surveillance, and kills Ji while Chinatsu moves the children and director into Hashirama’s shelter 38.
  • Survives Kang’s poison, saves Chinatsu, and is then impaled by Di, whose attempt to seize her eyes triggers the forest eruption 39.
  • Is rescued by Madara and Hashirama. Her Wood Release provokes competing Senju and Uchiha claims over her, bringing her concealed parentage into public view 41 42.
  • Recovers after nearly a month unconscious and initially remains within the clan compound 43 46.

Wood Release and Renewed Clan Pressure

  • Begins lessons with Hashirama and creates an orchard that villagers visit to gather fruit 47 49.
  • Becomes a particular target of Senju elders because she is the only female Wood Release user. They speculate that she might pass the ability to children; the story does not establish that their belief is correct 50.
  • The elders pressure Ryūju to approach her, but his rejection of their scheme leaves Shingetsu unaware of its purpose 50.

Trivia

  • Her Sharingan awakening at five makes her the youngest person in the clan recorded to have awakened it at that point 10.
  • Tobirama repeatedly mistakes her for Izuna’s daughter, interpreting Madara’s affection and her inherited swordsmanship as evidence 17 23 26.
  • Although she loves sweets, she dislikes dango because she has eaten so much that she is sick of it 11.
