One of Chinatsu's eyes housed "Kotoamatsukami," the ultimate Genjutsu, capable of freely rewriting another person's will. It was ridiculously broken, but against an opponent with the Rinnegan, it wasn't exactly useless-it was... completely useless!
Her other eye housed Replication. Put simply, it enhanced an ability the Sharingan already possessed. Secret Techniques, Kekkei Genkai, and the like-as long as the ability didn't directly affect her own body, Chinatsu could replicate it with this eye.
But this ability wouldn't be much use later on, either. After all, the later battles were clashes between gods. Any Kekkei Genkai or Secret Technique unrelated to the alien Otsutsuki simply wouldn't make the cut. Even if she replicated the Kekkei Tōta "Dust Release," Chinatsu didn't think it would help much.
That was what Chinatsu had once thought.
Until, after driving off Uchiha Itachi during the Chunin Ninja Exams, she saw the "Amaterasu" he used and, in a fit of melodramatic enthusiasm, casually shouted "Amaterasu!" Black flames immediately ignited wherever she was looking, leaving her utterly dumbfounded.
It wasn't limited to Kekkei Genkai and Secret Techniques... she could replicate ocular techniques, too!
This major discovery sent Chinatsu over the moon. After all, it gave her another trump card. If she found an opportunity to replicate "Kamui" in the future, then even if a whole bunch of aliens descended upon the Shinobi World... uh, actually, better if they didn't. A whole bunch of aliens really would be too much...
Otsutsuki Kaguya was already troublesome enough. The thought of a whole crowd of Otsutsuki showing up here afterward gave Chinatsu a headache.
Although "Amaterasu" was often mocked as a fire that never killed anyone, Chinatsu believed it could at least burn a dead man. Uchiha Itachi was terribly frail, not some indestructible powerhouse.
