There were seven chakra natures in total.
Water, fire, wind, lightning, earth, yin, and yang.
When two chakra natures blended perfectly, they produced a wondrous transformation known as a "kekkei genkai."
The Uchiha Clan's Sharingan was one example.
Kekkei genkai were exceedingly rare. Even in the Uchiha Clan, where the ability had become part of their bloodline, not everyone could awaken the Sharingan.
Konoha possessed very few kekkei genkai. The Sharingan was now the village's most famous, but during the Warring States Period, another kekkei genkai had existed that had even surpassed the Uchiha's Sharingan.
Wood Release!
A secret technique and kekkei genkai created by the First Hokage, it was the product of a perfect fusion between earth and water chakra natures.
And now, a "sprout" had actually grown out of the chakra paper in Chinatsu's hand.
Wood Release? The Senju Clan's kekkei genkai? No, that isn't right. Strictly speaking, Wood Release was unique to the First Hokage. It wasn't passed down through his family. Besides, I remember my chakra natures being fire, lightning, and wind... nothing to do with water or earth.
A whole cluster of baffled question marks seemed to pop up over Chinatsu's head. The more she learned about her body, the more confused she became.
This uneasy feeling...
Chinatsu closed her eyes, unconsciously increasing the chakra she poured into her hand. Sprouts kept emerging from the chakra paper until the paper itself was completely consumed and covered...
"Sis? Sis?"
"Hmm... it's... it's nothing."
Chinatsu raised a hand to her forehead. There were far too many things she didn't understand, so... she might as well stop thinking about them!
Any objections? Too bad. Chinatsu certainly didn't have an Ultimate-level brain. Before transmigrating, she had been nothing more than an ordinary, incredibly ordinary, couldn't-be-more-ordinary geek.
Still, she would definitely have to study this Wood Release business properly later. For now, she needed to deal with the two little guys in front of her.
Chinatsu quickly regained her composure. The greatest advantage of being a transmigrator was being able to take things one step at a time, a privilege reserved for those who knew the general course of the plot.
After taking a deep breath, Chinatsu turned back to Naruto and Sasuke and began teaching them by following the example she knew.
"Sasuke's chakra natures are lightning and fire, while Naruto's is wind. There isn't much more to say about Sasuke's, but Naruto, your chakra nature really suits you. Wind is the sharpest of all chakra natures. It charges straight ahead, swift and fierce, but it can also be gentle. It's incredibly versatile."
Chinatsu explained the characteristics of their respective chakra natures. This was undoubtedly brand-new knowledge for both boys. Sasuke clenched his fists in excitement, already itching to start training.
Of course, Teacher Chinatsu had already finished Sasuke's training plan. As long as he followed it step by step, he was certain to grow steadily stronger.
Sasuke was just about to thank her when he suddenly noticed that his sister didn't seem to have given Naruto his training plan.
Had she not prepared it yet?
Impossible. Sis was too thoughtful to forget something like that.
Sasuke turned his head slightly and glanced at Naruto beside him. Naruto was looking up at Chinatsu anxiously, afraid that she would treat him differently.
The tense atmosphere lasted only a few seconds before Chinatsu placed a hand on Naruto's head, instantly dispelling the tension that had formed for no clear reason.
"As for Naruto's training... well~ Sasuke has already finished the basics, after all. Naruto, you should learn the three basic ninja techniques first, especially the Shadow Clone Technique. If you can't even do that, we won't be able to move on to the next stage of training~"
She wasn't treating them unfairly. She was tailoring her teaching to each student.
Naruto and Sasuke were different, and no matter how she devised Naruto's training plan, he would first need to learn the fundamental Shadow Clone Technique.
"Anyway, do your best."
"Yeah!!!"
Naruto nodded happily, his fighting spirit instantly ignited. He had tried practicing the three basic techniques before, but every attempt had ended in failure.
But things were different now!
Naruto: I can do it! I can do it! I can do it! I can definitely do it!!!
As though he had turned into Tarzan, Naruto charged toward the open space inside the Uchiha Residence with a swagger that paid no heed to anyone.
Watching him, Sasuke decided that he absolutely couldn't fall behind and hurried out as well. However, the two boys went to opposite sides, leaving a considerable distance between them.
Naruto: "Aaaaaah!!!"
Sasuke: "Aaaaaah!!!"
Both boys burned with fighting spirit, like two Super Saiyans powering up, competing with each other despite the distance between them.
Chinatsu smiled faintly at the sight. A little competition like this was good. In that case... why not take this opportunity to study herself?
Chinatsu went into the house and returned to her room.
Closing her eyes and taking a quiet, deep breath, she tried to draw out all her chakra.
Fire, lightning, wind.
No problems there. Those were the chakra natures she remembered having.
Water, earth.
Oh my god, I really do have those two chakra natures?
Chinatsu's brow twitched slightly. The more she examined this body, the stranger it seemed. If Orochimaru presumably hadn't yet begun researching Hashirama cells at this point in the timeline, she would have suspected the body's original owner of being one of his experimental clones.
Still, if this body had some connection to Hashirama Senju, that would explain its astonishing regenerative ability.
Time passed quickly, and soon darkness had fallen completely. It was the dead of night, yet Naruto still hadn't left the Uchiha Residence. It wasn't because he planned to stay there, though. The two boys had simply lost track of time while training.
"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! Why can't I do it?!"
White smoke kept bursting into existence beside Naruto, bringing more Naruto clones with it. However, each had something wrong with it and was extremely "flimsy." Less than a second after appearing, each clone immediately deflated and collapsed like a doll leaking air.
Naruto panted heavily, unable to figure out where he was going wrong.
Just as Naruto gritted his teeth and tried to force himself to keep going, a hand settled on his shoulder.
"Idiot, you won't get anywhere by forcing it like that. I wasn't planning to come over, but you're just too stupid. I guess I've got no choice. I'll reluctantly teach you myself."
Tsundere! A textbook tsundere!
Sasuke spoke with his prickly attitude, and Naruto happily nodded, accepting his kindness.
And just like that, the night passed.
At five in the morning, Naruto and Sasuke lay on the ground.
Naruto was drenched in sweat and snoring away.
Sasuke looked utterly drained, his face ashen.
"Teaching Naruto the Clone Technique... I didn't think that through..."
After using the last of his strength to murmur those words, Sasuke's head lolled to one side, and he fell asleep.
The result of today's contest:
Sasuke's total defeat.
