Yoshimura Kuzen's transformation was different from Touka Kirishima's and Nishiki Nishio's. He remained remarkably quiet.
It was as though the kakuhou and Hashirama cells inside him were two people fighting, while Yoshimura Kuzen was merely a spectator.
As a spectator, Yoshimura Kuzen could do nothing but wait for one side to win. That victory would also determine whether he became a more powerful ghoul or a powerful human.

That very resolve had intensified the resistance of the ghoul cells inside them, causing them unbearable pain midway through the process.
Yoshimura Kuzen, however, was completely at peace. All he cared about was whether his daughter could become human. As for himself, being a ghoul or a human no longer mattered.
He was already old and had seen all that life had to offer. In the end, the path ahead belonged to the young. His role was simply to protect them along the way.
