Chapter Summaries

Orochimaru tested whether ghouls could become human by modifying Touka Kirishima and Yoshimura Kuzen with Hashirama cells. Touka completed the transformation, but Yoshimura’s many kakuhou overwhelmed the pseudo-cells, so Orochimaru used genuine Hashirama cells to continue the experiment.

• Ken Kaneki saw that Amon Kotaro was undergoing a transformation to become a half-ghoul so he could understand ghouls and perhaps become human.
• Touka Kirishima endured more than two hours of pain and successfully transformed, then tasted a lollipop and wept with happiness.
• Yoshimura Kuzen agreed to undergo the procedure, hoping that becoming human might also be possible for his daughter, Eto Yoshimura.
• Yoshimura’s six kakuhou absorbed the pseudo-Hashirama cells, causing him to enter his kakuja form and regain his strength.

CCG Special Class Investigator Yukiori Kōki mobilized investigators after two missing SS-Rank ghouls, Enji Koma and Kaya Irimi, began destroying Kanou General Hospital to draw someone out. Touka Kirishima and Nishiki Nishio confronted them, but the fight stalled until a handsome middle-aged man approached.

• Yukiori Kōki learned that Devil Ape and Black Dog were attacking Kanou General Hospital and discovered the CCG had almost no records on former researcher Kanou Akihiro.
• Yukiori Kōki ordered investigators to protect civilians and found Juuzou Suzuya had joined the mission with a stolen Quinque.
• Enji Koma and Kaya Irimi destroyed parts of the hospital to force out whoever had taken their manager, while Renji Yomo watched from a rooftop.

Naruto took Grisha and Wolffy to the Ghoul World to seek help, where they encountered Parasyte Ghouls and learned Sasuke was fighting one for training.
