Huiqi shook his head as he looked at Anteiku, now reduced to nothing but its foundations. It was one of the few places that held memories for him.
"Where is everyone?"
He looked around, but no one was in sight.
"Huh? What's that?" Huiqi noticed someone waving in a corner, wearing a cardboard box or something.
He walked over. Only when he got closer did Huiqi realize the other person couldn't speak and was scribbling on a sheet of paper with a pen.
"I'm Hideyoshi Nagachika. Do you know where Ken Kaneki is?"
"You're Hideyoshi Nagachika?" Huiqi asked uncertainly, looking at the man in the cardboard box.
"Yes..."
Before the last sound faded, Huiqi reached out and pulled the box off.
"Jeez! What happened to you?"
Half of Hideyoshi Nagachika's face was disfigured, and the skin on his neck was gone, leaving only exposed, torn flesh.
"I was injured. Do you know where Ken Kaneki is? I found out a few things about the CCG."
"Ken Kaneki is in Ward 23. Kishou Arima has custody of him. All I know is that he's still alive. As for the CCG, what did you find?"
"The equipment in the Underground Laboratory belongs to the CCG. The Ghoul Investigators from the fourth squad in the Ward 20 operation were taken away by Aogiri Tree."
"Hmm? Got it. I'll investigate the CCG when the time comes. Take care of yourself first."
Huiqi rubbed his chin. This trip really had yielded some useful information. Akihiro Kano was very likely still alive; otherwise, Aogiri Tree wouldn't be collecting Ghoul Investigators' bodies.
"I'll keep digging. Also, something isn't right about the CCG. Please be careful."
