In the distance, Hairu Ihei had reached the rooftop. Huiqi turned and left the battlefield, leaving behind Sen Takatsuki's kakuja armor and Ken Kaneki.
The CCG weren't the only ones busy that night. Hideyoshi Nagachika, Kōtarō Amon, Touka Kirishima, and Renji Yomo were busy too.
Hideyoshi Nagachika had uncovered something new: old video footage from Akihiro Kano's Private Hospital. It clearly recorded the surgical procedure. Although Huiqi never appeared on camera, the voices made it easy to tell that a third person had been present.

"What a shame." Huiqi looked with pity at the bodies of Ginshi Shirazu and Fusami Shimoguchi. This battle had left many dead and wounded-or perhaps every battle did.
The CCG was a gathering place for drifters.
Shuu Tsukiyama was rescued by the help Chie Hori had brought, while Aogiri Tree attacked the CCG vehicles transporting the bodies.

Huiqi and Kishou Arima were assigned to search for traces of 𩾇. Hairu Ihei became an Associate Special Class Investigator and accompanied Huiqi on his operations.
Ken Kaneki and Hairu Ihei were promoted to Associate Special Class Investigator.
Kuki Urie was promoted to leader of the Quinque Squad.
The higher-ups also relieved Ken Kaneki of his position in the Quinque Squad at his request.
The higher-ups had already assigned replacements for the Quinque Squad's missing members. The new recruits would join the squad in operations to annihilate Aogiri Tree.
The Quinque Squad now consisted of Kuki Urie, Saiko Yonebayashi, Tōma Higemaru (an honors student from the CCG First Academy's junior division), Xiao Jingli (from the Sunlit Garden), and Shinsanpei Yasuhira (from the Seventh Academy's junior division, nephew of Special Class Investigator Kiyoko Yasuhira).
