"What was that?"

Through the camera, Huiqi caught sight of a dark figure flashing past.

"This contains all the experimental data. If something happens to me, use it to set up the next laboratory."

Akihiro Kano took a USB drive from his pocket and handed it to Huiqi.

Huiqi accepted Kano's USB drive and carefully tucked it into his pocket for safekeeping. This experimental data was vital. With it, they could restart the experiments in no time.

On the camera feed, Ken Kaneki's team quickly cleared the first floor and headed straight for the second, while Huiqi and Akihiro Kano made their way to the lowest level.

The CCG team led by Yukinori Shinohara had been lucky. They encountered no test subjects along the way, though Akira Mado seemed distracted.

"Stay focused."

"Right." Akira Mado nodded, but Shinohara's words kept running through her mind.

Huiqi had a lover, and he had most likely gone to attend their funeral. But why had there been dust in his room? Even if he had left in a hurry, it shouldn't have been like that.

Question after question surfaced in Akira Mado's mind. She had once thought she knew Huiqi well, but now it seemed there was still so much she didn't know.

She would have to wait until Huiqi's leave ended to ask him.

Meanwhile, Ken Kaneki's team encountered the Fueguchi Sisters, Naki from Aogiri Tree, and Yoshimura Kuzen.

Ken Kaneki decisively ordered Shuu Tsukiyama to stay behind and hold off the Fueguchi Sisters. But with Naki's arrival, the situation immediately turned into a three-way battle.

Kaneki, who had already pushed deeper inside, also encountered the ghoul who had defeated him before: 𩾇.

"One-eyed brat," 𩾇 called coldly, stopping Ken Kaneki. This time, 𩾇 was determined to teach that foolish woman a lesson.
