Huiqi rose to Special Class while pursuing ghouls and crossing paths with Rize Kamishiro. After Rize attacked Ken Kaneki, Akihiro Kano transplanted her kakuhou into him, leaving Ken a half-ghoul under Huiqi’s watch.

• Huiqi survived the 24th Ward mission, where Kawashima died and Kishou Arima defeated Eto Yoshimura, then accepted a promotion and kept the incident secret.
• Huiqi hunted ghouls in Ward 7, killed several S-rate attackers, and earned promotion to Rank 1 Investigator before taking on months of further missions.
• Huiqi reached Special Class strength, received the combination Quinque Assassin 01, and found Sen Takatsuki had left his apartment.
• Huiqi rescued Akira Mado from a ghoul and later joined Kureo Mado and Kōtarō Amon in investigating the Binge Eater’s attacks.
• Huiqi tracked Ken Kaneki and Rize Kamishiro to a construction site, where Rize revealed herself as a ghoul and attacked Ken.
• Huiqi subdued a clown-masked ghoul, drove Rize away from Ken, and defeated her before Akihiro Kano arrived to claim her for experiments.

Huiqi fought Sen Takatsuki and Aogiri Tree while balancing CCG duties with his growing concern for Akira Mado and Ken Kaneki. As experiments at Kano’s hospital produced a monstrous ghoul and Huiqi confronted Fuyuko’s tragedy, Aogiri Tree’s campaign in Ward 11 led him to Ryouko and Hinami.

• Akihiro Kano told Huiqi that Ken Kaneki’s transplant had succeeded, while Huiqi fought Sen Takatsuki and was badly wounded.
• After recovering, Huiqi returned to CCG duty, received new Quinques, and rescued Akira Mado and other students during the attack on the CCG Academy.
• Huiqi helped turn the tide in Ward 10, fought Noro, and faced the mutated monster before Sen Takatsuki calmed it and left for Ward 24.
• Huiqi helped Akira choose the S-rate Quinque Emelisa, warned her against becoming his partner, and later visited Akihiro Kano’s laboratory, where Rize Kamishiro’s rc cells produced a short-lived monstrous ghoul.
• Huiqi investigated Fuyuko Yasui’s killing of Niko Kuroba, learned that three ghouls had coerced Fuyuko, killed them, and then killed Fuyuko at her request.
• Itori told Ken Kaneki about rare hybrid ghouls and a powerful One-Eyed Ghoul in Ward 24, while Huiqi chose to keep monitoring Kaneki as Kano prepared more experiments.
• As Aogiri Tree overwhelmed Ward 11, Huiqi followed Kureo Mado’s lead to a ghoul sighting and recognized Ryouko and Hinami Fueguchi from Anteiku.

Huiqi helped lead the CCG assault on Aogiri Tree while Ken Kaneki endured Yamori’s torture and transformed, and Huiqi later faced Yoshimura and Kaneki before withdrawing. Back at the CCG, Huiqi took on new duties, gave Juuzou a Quinque, and sent Akira to investigate disappearances in Ward 8.

• Huiqi captured Ryouko Fueguchi and pressured Hinami to watch Ken Kaneki, while Anteiku debated how to protect Hinami and respond to Ryouko’s arrest.
• Huiqi learned that Aogiri Tree had taken Ken Kaneki and pushed for an accelerated assault on Ward 11 as Kaneki was brought before Tatara and learned about his origins.
• Yamori tortured Ken Kaneki, who relived his childhood, rejected Rise’s accusations, and finally attacked and fed on her.
• Huiqi joined the CCG assault on Ward 11, fought through Aogiri Tree’s defenses, and searched for Kaneki as the Manager confronted the investigators as the One-Eyed Owl.
• Ken Kaneki defeated Yamori, while Huiqi wounded the Manager and pursued him before fighting Anteiku’s ghouls and overpowering Kaneki, and Huiqi then left the survivors alive and reported that he had driven Owl back.
• After Aogiri Tree attacked Cochlea, Huiqi returned to CCG headquarters, took on new responsibilities, arranged for Akihiro Kano to track the Yasuhisa sisters, and sent Hinami a video of Ryouko.
• Huiqi gave Akira Mado a demanding training plan and assigned Hideyoshi Nagachika to investigate the Ghoul Restaurant, then took Juuzou Suzuya to choose a Quinque after Juuzou brought him Yamori’s head.
• Huiqi sent Akira to investigate Hirano Mai’s disappearance in Ward 8, and Akira and Morimine Kyōhei traced the case to an old disappearance as Tōjō went missing.

Huiqi rescued the Yasuhisa sisters, uncovered more of the CCG’s secrets, and prepared for the assault on Anteiku. The Owl Suppression Operation left Ken Kaneki and Kōtarō Amon gravely wounded, while Sen Takatsuki struck down Kureo Mado.

• Akira Mado defeated Koharu, and Huiqi later agreed to help Chie Hori search for her family before tracing Yūjirō Utsumi’s connection to the Ward 8 murders.
• Ken Kaneki learned about Aogiri Tree’s plans and the One-Eyed King, while the CCG began investigating Akihiro Kano and Huiqi went to Kano’s laboratory.
• Huiqi fought through Kano’s laboratory, rescued Kurona Yasuhisa and Nashiro Yasuhisa, and brought them to his home, where they decided to call him Dad.
• Huiqi returned to the CCG, learned that the Eyepatch Ghoul was Ken Kaneki, and discovered that there were two Owls as the CCG prepared its Ward 20 operation.
• Yoshimura Kuzen revealed his past to Ken Kaneki, while Huiqi gave the Yasuhisa sisters data and an antidote before leaving for the operation.
• The CCG attacked Anteiku, and Huiqi fought Demon Ape and Black Dog ghouls before wounding Kaya Irimi as Ken Kaneki headed toward the battlefield.
• Ken Kaneki fought Kōtarō Amon until both were severely wounded, while the Yasuhisa sisters escaped investigators and the CCG attacked Yoshimura Kuzen.
• Kureo Mado attacked the One-Eyed Owl, who severed his limbs, and Sen Takatsuki brought her massive hand down on him.
