Power Progression

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Pilot candidate; two years of training 1 Trains both in reality and through the Practice System, developing familiarity with Eva controls and simulated Angel combat.
Synchronization threshold reached; Boost Card activated 2 Reaches the 40% synchronization requirement for redeeming a Boost Card. The card costs 500 Practice Points, maximizes synchronization, and increases all attributes by 20%.
Qualified Special Unit pilot 2 Finishes the simulation in 3 minutes 20 seconds, earning 95 points, a recorded 57% synchronization rate, and first place. He is the only candidate to qualify.
A.T. Field Myriad Transformation Method 9 Receives the technique after defeating the Fish Angel, alongside 3,000 points and access to the system lottery.
Taiji Sword Hilt formed 18 Fuses the Black and White Sword Hilts. Gains blade creation through mental control, spatial cutting, revival, dual-sword transformation, and dangerous sacrificial sword styles.
Psychic sensing demonstrated 24 Uses psychic power to sense Gendo and Fuyutsuki approximately two kilometers from the volcano. The acquisition of this ability is not shown.
Mythic Technology demonstrated 34 Levitates grass and petals into a heart-shaped display. The performance exhausts all his stamina.
A.T. Field–infused sword energy 42 Combines the Greatsword’s sword energy with his transformable A.T. Field, bisecting the Rain Angel with one charged attack.
Incomplete Sword God Domain activated; White/faint divine power 48 Absorbs a domain fragment rewarded after the Space Angel battle. Acquires enough divine power to create a small life-form; further evolution is initially unavailable.
Infinity Gauntlet acquired 50 Receives the gauntlet with all six stones. Its powers are demonstrated in later chapters.
Formless Sword created 65 Independently creates a sword through his mind and spirit in a mental world where the system does not function. Combines spirit and A.T. Field to break his counterpart’s defense.
Shady Merchant Skill acquired 69 Receives the ability to sell system rewards, including other skills, for temporary increases in selected attributes.
Sword God trial and pseudo-deification 76 77 Uses a two-minute Sword God trial card, then sells Taiji Sword skills and a divine-power enhancement skill for a continuing supply of divine power during the Power Angel battle.
Experimental Berserk Mode and Ten Thousand Swords Become One 77 78 Combines pseudo-deification with the Special Unit’s unsafe Berserk Mode and an A.T. Field–infused Sword God technique. The unit cannot withstand the power, and the attack fails to kill the Power Angel.
Major loss of system resources 80 Discovers that most of his items and abilities are gone after the battle. His later panel still lists basic combat skills, A.T. Field transformation, the damaged Taiji Sword Hilt, and the Infinity Gauntlet 102.
Infinity Gauntlet stabilization 89 Uses the energy-depleted gauntlet to slow his disappearance and restore his translucent body to solidity during a side-story journey.
Formless Sword used against the fused original 97 Shatters A.T. Fields and defeats the mindscape fusion of the original Huang Zhetian and the Special Unit’s innate nature.
Level-eight Sword Mark 106 The Incomplete Taiji Sword’s level-eight Sword Mark begins transforming during his first confrontation with Kaworu. The intervening leveling process is not detailed.
Space Stone manipulation 130 132 Uses an individual Infinity Stone for instantaneous disappearance and to fuse surrounding walls into a barrier.
Rebuild-world pilot qualification 142 In a seven-year-old body, defeats five simulated Evas in two and a half minutes, with 58% synchronization and an overall score of 90.
New combat and analytical purchases 143 Buys Eva hand-to-hand combat, A.T. Field Shifting Weapons, A.T. Field Radiation Beam, Staff Technique, and Data-Testing Glasses.
Special Unit X tested 151 Tests the upgraded unit’s integrated weapons, flight systems, head boomerang, and X-Ray Beam in virtual space.
Precision shooting skill 160 Draws “Pop Out and Get Sniped,” which provides precise aiming and head-locking within the weapon’s effective range.
Full-strength clone reward 166 Receives a clone with his full strength and a ten-minute duration after defeating the Seventh Angel.
Unlimited-range clone control 172 Uses a Skill Upgrade Card on his Cloning Technique, removing its control-distance limit.
Partial Angelization; Unit-03 secured 173 174 Resists the Ninth Angel’s infection with his personal A.T. Field, erases the Angel, and takes control of Unit-03 while remaining partially Angelized and contaminated.
Further clone upgrade and return-point skill 182 Upgrades his Clone Skill again and purchases Mecha-Driving Clone, which permits instantaneous return to one of up to five placed afterimages. The further clone upgrade’s exact effects are not specified in the supplied passage.
Controlled Angel awakening 196 197 199 Absorbs Angel blood and merges with his avatar. Can freely switch forms, control the Eva externally, fly, cut with A.T. Fields, and apply multilayered suppression.
Complete artifact and Resurrection Armor 213 Has collected all five artifact fragments, forming a black-and-white double-ended spear, and obtained Resurrection Armor from an Epic Gift Pack.
New Special Unit deployed 231 Activates a heavily armored, winged upgrade with a split V-shaped horn, halo, and back thrusters for the final operation.
Complete Angel form 234 Injects all remaining Angel blood before confronting Unit-13. His hair becomes flame-like, and his eyes turn dark crimson; he deliberately allows the Shikinami Original Soul to take him inside Unit-13.

Background / History

Huang Zhetian entered the Evangelion world more than two years before his first appearance. In his previous life, he watched the anime, read fanfiction, played an associated game, and attended a junior college. His knowledge of the original story becomes a practical advantage, but he recognizes that his presence introduces variables he cannot reliably predict 1 9 28.

Unlike systems that grant effortless wealth or overwhelming strength, his Practice System requires him to improve through training. He earns only 1,000 Practice Points during his first two years and cannot redeem items until his synchronization meets the necessary threshold. His eventual qualification gives NERV’s China Branch a pilot for its Special Unit and secures financial, material, and technical support for the overseas deployment 1 2.

Initially, he conceals his purpose and trusts no one completely, including the Chinese military in this parallel world. He later develops sufficient trust to send intelligence to China’s senior leadership. His larger objective is to rewrite the plot rather than remain a pawn in Gendo’s or SEELE’s plans 18 32.

His previous-life recollections describe a family that moved from the countryside to the city for its children’s opportunities. Neighborhood prejudice and private-school social hierarchies left him isolated, although his parents supported him. He later transferred to a public school, discovered Evangelion during high school, and attended vocational college after missing the undergraduate admissions cutoff. These recollections also explain his admiration for Shinji’s ability to recover after emotional collapse 117.

His memories are not entirely straightforward. During later mental encounters, apparent memories of warmth and acceptance are challenged by scenes of ridicule, employment setbacks, and the original Huang Zhetian’s fantasies of receiving love. The narrative distinguishes the transmigrating protagonist, this world’s original Huang Zhetian, and clones or avatars rather than treating every appearance as the same uninterrupted body or consciousness. Huang ultimately recalls dying suddenly in a rented room at twenty-five 97 120 132 136 137 201 245.

When he visits his former hometown with Asuka, he finds the house empty. A neighbor explains that its deceased owner, also surnamed Huang and resembling him, had lost his relatives in the disaster fifteen years earlier. The visit deepens his grief and his bond with Asuka without resolving every ambiguity surrounding his counterpart 53 54.

After the original-version storyline, he continues into the Rebuild world, taking the place of that world’s original Huang Zhetian in NERV’s records. He begins in a seven-year-old body and has eight years to prepare for the main battles. Following the later catastrophe, he spends fourteen years fighting, conducting research, improving humanity’s circumstances, and preparing safeguards for the ending 142 144 206 213.

At the story’s end, he uses his wish to return to his original world with Asuka. He initially awakens alone aboard a high-speed train, but their pocket watch contains their photograph, and he subsequently reunites with her outside an anime merchandise store 245.

Appearance

  • Blue plugsuit: Wears a Chinese-made combat suit, which he finds particularly comfortable 7.
  • Republican-era-style robe: Purchases a plain, high-quality long robe for his date with Asuka. She compares his appearance in it to a learned scholar 29 31.
  • Blue eyes: His pupils turn an eerie blue while he scans his room; his gaze is also described as deep blue during his confrontation with Gendo 48 50.
  • Divine manifestation: Activating the Sword God Domain temporarily turns his eyes golden and leaves a Sword Mark on his forehead 48.
  • Blue-flame manifestation: During heightened combat states, blue light or flames obscure his pupils. The Special Unit’s eyes mirror this effect during the Power Angel battle 76 77 97.
  • Glasses and disguises: Wears glasses in later appearances, including system-purchased analytical glasses. A system-created mask can also change his apparent face to match an identity document 89 91 143.
  • Human form after awakening: Returns to black hair and black eyes when he suppresses his Angel form 197.
  • Angel form: Has waist-length white hair, rose-red pupils, and an additional eye on his forehead. His gaze and expression become markedly colder 196 197 199.
  • Complete Angel form: His hair loses its individual strands and resembles shifting flames, while his eyes become dark crimson and his forehead eye reddens further 234.

Personality

Huang Zhetian is outgoing, teasing, and quick to act familiar with others. He befriends Toji and Kensuke almost immediately, draws the more withdrawn Shinji into the group, and frequently uses cooking to bring people together. His internal commentary is irreverent and full of memes, profanity, and references to his previous life 4 5 11 29.

Behind that humor, he is lonely, guarded, and acutely aware of the cast’s future suffering. He withholds information and conceals his powers because exposing them—or changing events too drastically—could destroy his ability to anticipate the story. His caution is not absolute: when his companions are endangered, he stays behind against two Angels and later severs his Eva’s foot to escape a lethal trap 14 25 32 41.

Asuka becomes his strongest emotional attachment and a vulnerability he fears others may exploit. A prediction of her death breaks his usual composure, but he eventually responds by secretly accepting the injuries transferred through her necklace. Gendo regards his willingness to harm even himself as evidence of exceptional ruthlessness and decisiveness 26 32 48.

His determination rests on acting rather than accepting a known tragedy. He rejects a counterpart’s claim that fate cannot be escaped and insists that knowing the ending is a reason to change it. At the same time, he admits that his rescue efforts are inseparable from his own wishes, responding defiantly when the Womb Angel calls his redemption selfish and hypocritical 65 73 113.

His later experiences expose instability beneath his confidence. After meeting Kaworu, he struggles with intense killing intent, and he subsequently sees competing versions of himself in shattered mirror fragments, rejecting their attempts to define or control him 106 121.

Angelization makes him exceptionally cold and detached, although he can return to his ordinary human demeanor. He also displays fierce enjoyment of combat against Kaworu. Outside battle, his deepest ambition is comparatively modest: to live peacefully and securely with the people he values 197 199 201 202.

Within WILLE, he becomes an intimidating authority when promises or responsibilities are neglected. Veterans remember his prolonged rebuke of Ritsuko, while he explains that he originally preferred to leave leadership to Misato and work behind the scenes on research 211 213.

Abilities & Skills

Practice System

The system rewards training and mission completion with Practice Points, techniques, equipment, and lottery prizes 1 9 11.

  • Broad training: He practices skills and knowledge beyond Eva piloting, including cooking 11.
  • Item redemption: Buys consumables and clothing through the system shop and retrieves purchases from its inventory 2 29.
  • Mission rewards: Angel battles can award points and additional items; the Fish Angel yields 3,000 points, while the volcano mission awards 7,000 9 25.
  • Restrictions: The Boost Card requires at least 40% synchronization and is a temporary enhancement, not a permanent baseline 2.
  • Prediction: The system identifies a possible future in which his actions cause Asuka’s death; the prediction does not establish that this outcome has already occurred 48.
  • Accelerated training space: One year inside equals one minute outside. Huang commonly trains for half a minute of external time, also relying on accelerated-learning assistance 102.
  • Simulation limits: Can conjure objects within its training space and simulate personalities for rehearsal, but cannot create actual life there 102.
  • Operating principles: The system explicitly requires the host to rewrite events through his own actions. It is not omnipotent and was created by a higher-plane being to let him experience the story and its characters’ feelings 102.
  • Final wish: Promises any wish after completion of the final mission, subject to a warning against exploiting loopholes. Huang ultimately uses his wish to return to his original world with Asuka 102 245.
  • Later economy: Introduces tiered points and progress bars. A subsequent update allows Low-Level Points Coins to convert to High-Level Points Coins at a ratio of 100:1 160 193.

Eva Piloting and A.T. Fields

Huang combines practiced maneuvers, close-range weapons, defensive fields, and improvised battlefield tactics 1 2 8 25.

  • Field neutralization: Uses his Eva’s A.T. Field to break through an Angel’s defense during the qualification simulation 1.
  • Defensive projection: Creates a polygonal barrier to stop the Fish Angel from crushing the Special Unit 8.
  • Coordinated attacks: Executes a combined Rider Kick with Asuka and helps neutralize the volcanic Angel’s field with Shinji and Asuka 17 25.
  • Sword-energy infusion: Fuses an A.T. Field into the Greatsword’s attack, producing a translucent, rainbow-colored wave that cuts through the Rain Angel and its corrosive liquid 42.
  • Operational limits: External cables restrict underwater movement, and the Special Unit repeatedly becomes helpless when its power is exhausted 8 14 17 25.
  • Experimental Berserk Mode: Uses a theoretically developed joint American–Chinese mode during the Power Angel battle. Combined with pseudo-deification, it breaks restraints and enlarges the unit’s musculature, but also causes its muscles and nerve fibers to deteriorate 77.
  • Human-scale projection: Restrains Kaworu’s wrist with an A.T. Field to save a kitten and later resists infection inside Unit-03 with his own field 106 173.
  • Purchased techniques: Acquires A.T. Field Shifting Weapons and A.T. Field Radiation Beam. The latter resembles an Ultraman firing stance but is described as approximately comparable to an ordinary Ramiel attack 143 193.
  • External control: After his controlled Angel awakening, no longer needs to enter an Entry Plug to pilot the Special Unit 197.
  • Continuing vulnerability: Angelization does not make him invincible. Mass Production Unit-07s can batter him through buildings, and Unit-13 pierces his field and captures him during the final operation 202 234.

Taiji Sword

The Taiji Sword is rated on the same level as the Spear of Longinus; neither inherently overpowers the other, making the wielder’s abilities decisive 18.

  • Mental blade formation: State of mind, willpower, and mental strength shape its blade from surrounding elemental particles 18.
  • Spatial cutting: A test swing creates thin tears in space, which quickly repair themselves 18.
  • Kill and revive: Its initially stated ability is to kill when drawn and revive when sheathed, with use limited to twice per day 18.
  • Suspended animation: Huang uses it to stage the deaths of two Giant Machine pilots and revive them after the military leaves. He explains the effect to Shinji and Asuka as suspended animation 37 38.
  • Dual-sword form: Can split into two swords and merge back into one to catch opponents off guard 18.
  • God-Slaying Sword Style: Initially costs half the wielder’s lifespan; the system advises against using it 18.
  • Reincarnation Sword Style: Is initially described as ignoring all defenses and instantly killing its target, but traps the wielder in a lifetime of reincarnation with a risk of never escaping 18.
  • Sacrificed skills: During the Power Angel battle, Huang sells two Taiji Sword skills and the skill used to enhance divine power. The supplied passage does not individually name the two sword skills sold, so the original skill list is not a reliable statement that all remain available afterward 77.
  • Damaged condition: His later inventory identifies the hilt as damaged, permanent, and unalterable 102.
  • Sword Mark and mental protection: Its level-eight Sword Mark begins transforming around Kaworu. During the Angel’s later mental assault, an eye on the incomplete hilt helps Huang recover enough awareness to eject; afterward, the hilt loses its luster and develops fine cracks 106 109.

Psychic Power and Mythic Technology

Huang possesses supernatural abilities outside Eva combat, but conceals their true nature from his companions 24 34.

  • Remote sensing: Detects Gendo and Fuyutsuki near the volcano from roughly two kilometers away 24.
  • Object manipulation: Controls grass and flower petals through gestures and will, arranging them into a heart 34.
  • Cover explanation: Calls the display “Ten Thousand Swords Return to the Source,” then claims it is a transformation achieved at the pinnacle of martial arts 34.
  • Stamina cost: The display drains all his stamina, indicating that he cannot yet use it comfortably 34.
  • Enhanced vision: His blue-eyed vision can identify a watcher through a crowd and later detect approaching troops through the surrounding structure. His Blue Machine Eyes also scan a NERV branch for survivors 96 132 191.
  • Earth manipulation: Raises a large boulder from the ground as a training target for Shinji 225.

Incomplete Sword God Domain

The fragment Huang obtains is the largest surviving fragment of the fallen Sword God’s domain, but its contents and power remain incomplete and reduced to their minimum 48.

  • Initial capability: His newly acquired divine power can create a small life-form, not an entire world 48.
  • Power scale: White is faint; yellow is entry-level; blue is normal; red is moderately strong; green represents 50% restoration; gold is peak condition 48.
  • Evolution: Requires Practice Points, though evolution is unavailable when he first activates the fragment 48.
  • Peak restoration: Sacrificing half his lifespan can restore peak condition for fourteen years. Divine power use and automatic lifespan restoration both reduce that remaining duration 48.
  • Activation limit: The system allows only two chances at this restoration and states that no additional chances will become available 48.
  • Trial card: Later uses a Sword God trial card with a two-minute duration during the Power Angel battle 76 77.
  • Ten Thousand Swords Become One: Generates circling sword afterimages that converge on the Greatsword, sharpening and empowering it. Huang adds his A.T. Field, but mechanical failure disperses half the accumulated energy before he releases the attack 74 78.
  • Later resource loss: The domain’s original sacrificial restoration should not be assumed to remain available unchanged after he sells the divine-power enhancement skill and loses most system resources 77 80.

Formless Sword and Mental Combat

The Formless Sword is Huang’s own creation rather than a system reward. He first forms it from elemental particles through his mind and spirit in a mental realm where the system is unavailable 65.

  • Spirit–field fusion: Combines his spirit with his A.T. Field to produce a formless slash capable of cracking and destroying his counterpart’s defense 65.
  • Independent manifestation: Later creates the blue sword again while fighting the fused original Huang Zhetian and the Special Unit’s innate nature 97.
  • Field-cutting attacks: Shatters an overhead A.T. Field, slices through conical fields, and unleashes a crescent that becomes numerous sword-energy strikes 97.
  • Mental boundaries: Keeps Kaworu outside his inner world with an A.T. Field, refusing to trust him with access 109.
  • Limitations: His mental defenses do not make him immune to psychological attacks. A later Angel drives his synchronization downward and nearly breaks through his heart’s A.T. Field before the incomplete sword assists him 109.

Shady Merchant Skill

The Shady Merchant Skill converts system rewards into temporary power rather than permanent advancement 69 193.

  • Saleable resources: Can sell items and other skills, but cannot sell the Shady Merchant Skill itself 69.
  • Selectable gains: Can assign the resulting enhancement to divine power, mental power, stamina, eyesight, intelligence, or other listed attributes 69.
  • Duration and magnitude: Depend on the level of what is sold 69.
  • Major use: Trades valuable skills for a continuing divine-power supply while struggling to hold back the Power Angel 77.

Cloning and Mobility

  • Full-strength clone: Receives a ten-minute clone possessing his full strength as a Seventh Angel reward 166.
  • Remote control upgrade: Removes the clone’s range restriction with a Skill Upgrade Card 172.
  • Further upgrade: Uses another upgrade card on the Clone Skill; the supplied passage does not disclose its complete revised description 182.
  • Mecha-Driving Clone: Places up to five afterimages and allows him to return instantly to one from a distance 182.
  • Lightness Skill: Appears among his retained basic abilities. His movements during a covert operation are compared to a ninja’s leaping travel 99 102.
  • Body substitution: Explains his earlier survival to Misato and Shinji as switching into another body, while presenting this as only a partial account of the truth 132.

Angelization

Huang first becomes partially Angelized while fighting the Ninth Angel’s infection. He remains in control, destroys the Angel, and secures Unit-03 173 174.

His later awakening follows the absorption of Angel blood and merger with his avatar. The system confirms that he can switch between his two forms at will 196 197.

  • Angel-level A.T. Field: Projects barriers, uses fields to cut and fly, and overlaps them to suppress enemies 197.
  • Specialized applications: Demonstrates A.T. Field partitioning, defense, multilayered Absolute Territory suppression, and multiform laser pillars 199.
  • Human Form skill: Separately retains a skill permitting five personal A.T. Field projections per day, deciding not to sell it despite his new Angel abilities 197.
  • Transformation effects: Switching forms is described as having no physical side effects, but his Angelized demeanor becomes unusually cold and detached 199.
  • Complete transformation: Injects all Angel blood before the Unit-13 confrontation and asks the system to preserve his consciousness while holding Resurrection Armor in reserve 234.

Foreknowledge and Tactical Planning

His familiarity with the original story informs both combat decisions and resistance to NERV’s hidden agenda 9 10 50.

  • Political preparation: Gives the fleet captain information about Angels and anticipates a dispute over Eva command authority 4 5.
  • Emergency leadership: Guides the pilots through Passage Seven using an emergency handbook during NERV’s blackout 41.
  • Biological countermeasure: Proposes accelerating the Horror Angel’s evolution toward extinction when conventional Eva combat cannot stop it 50.
  • Uncertainty: Understands that stronger Angels, altered schedules, and intervention by Gendo or SEELE can invalidate his expectations 11 14 24 41.
  • Selective preservation of the plot: Plans to let Rei accompany Gendo into Central Dogma because entering the resulting Instrumentality mindscape is necessary to his rescue strategy 102 130.
  • Suspected correction: Questions whether the story is correcting his interventions after the coordinated sniper attack fails and events again approach the original sequence 109.
  • Refuge planning: Proposes Village-3 and Sealing Pillars when WILLE needs years of preparation and a secure human refuge 186.
  • Long-term safeguards: Uses fourteen years of research and system resources to improve survival conditions and prepare for access to Minus Space 213.
  • Deliberate capture: Plans to let the Shikinami Original Soul take him inside Unit-13 rather than treating his final capture as wholly unintended 234.

Cooking and Music

  • Chinese cuisine: Demonstrates precise knife work and elaborate presentation, including cold cucumber salad and peony fish slices. He prepares meals for his housemates, classmates, and Misato’s promotion celebration 11 17 45.
  • Teaching: Explains sixteen cutting techniques and lets Shinji assist and learn in the kitchen 11.
  • Flute performance: Plays “Thoughts Across Time and Space,” evoking memories of Shinji’s and Asuka’s mothers while thinking of his own family 20 21.
  • Grass-blade music: Performs the same piece on a blade of grass, adjusting its rhythm and mood to express hope rather than grief 34.
  • Other repertoire: Plays “Splendid Weiyang” for Asuka during their boating trip 43.
  • Memorial performance: Plays “Elegy” as Village-3 bids farewell to Kaji 197.
  • Drawing: Sketches with charcoal at an easel during his peaceful domestic life with Asuka near the ending 245.

Martial Arts and Instruction

  • Broad combat foundation: His system panel lists Basic Combat Technique, Swordsmanship, and Lightness Skill. Later purchases add Eva hand-to-hand techniques and Staff Technique 102 143.
  • Sparring: Defeats Mari using chained kicks and counters, while acknowledging that her flexibility and grappling would make her difficult to fight with only basic martial arts. Also spars with Asuka 204.
  • Spear instruction: Teaches Shinji coordinated advancing defense, retreating offense, controlled extension and withdrawal, and concentration of force into a single point 225 226.
  • Training discipline: Keeps Shinji at an outdoor training site for repeated exercises, including piercing a boulder and inserting a spear into the ground without cracking it 225 226.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Special Unit — China’s pale-blue backup Eva, built after Unit-01 and visually similar to it. Its white-and-blue horn and armor include white, yellow, and red accents 1.
    • Transforms its outer armor into a close-fitting configuration for underwater maneuverability 8.
    • Can be converted for flight; Huang uses this configuration to intercept the fighter carrying an N² Missile 25.
    • Includes an experimental Berserk Mode jointly researched by the United States and China branches, with severe structural risks 77.
    • Is later frozen and has its core Sigma Unit removed before Huang’s Unit-03 test 172.
  • Eva weapons — Uses a Particle Knife, machine guns, a Tang Dao formed from a hilt, and a Greatsword capable of releasing sword energy 1 8 13 36 42.
    • Later equipment includes rifles, a shotgun, spears, a Samurai Scimitar, and shoulder-mounted vibrating particle blades. He also requests a staff for the Rebuild-world Special Unit 109 144 149.
  • Taiji Sword Hilt — Formed by merging the system-gifted Black Sword Hilt with the rewarded White Sword Hilt; bears an intertwined black-and-white Taiji design 3 9 18.
    • Later appears in his inventory as damaged, permanent, and unalterable. Its eye assists him during a mental attack before the hilt grows dull and develops cracks 102 109.
  • Resurrection Ring — Listed among his prizes; Huang plans to give it to Kaji. The supplied passages do not show its activation 18.
  • Transfer Chain — A legendary necklace worn by Asuka. The first blood-authenticated owner’s injuries transfer to the second person; Huang secretly registers himself as that recipient. Its description also lists a resurrection effect 48.
  • Oil-Paper Umbrella — Carries it during dates and uses it to shade Asuka while she sleeps against him in a boat 31 33 43.
  • Orange flip phone — Purchases one as part of a matching pair with Asuka 43.
  • Infinity Gauntlet — Receives the gauntlet with all six stones 50.
    • Uses its remaining energy to stabilize his disappearing body during a side story. Although only five gems are described glowing in that scene, a later inventory explicitly lists all six stones as present and individually removable 89 102.
    • Uses the Space Stone separately for instantaneous movement and structural manipulation 130 132.
  • Identity document and disguise mask — System-created tools allowing him to travel under an assumed identity and alter his apparent face without observers noticing 89.
  • Nuclear-Powered Walkman — Requires no external power and allows music to be heard in any environment 102.
  • Special Unit upgrades — Receives an Appearance and Body Upgrade recommended for the Instrumentality ritual; also possesses a Special Unit Upgrade Blueprint 102.
  • Data-Testing Glasses — Analyze heart rate, emotions, truth and lies, and scientific or physical data. Only Huang can access their functions; other wearers see ordinary glasses 143.
  • Special Unit X — An upgraded unit with cleaner lines and integrated weapons 151.
    • Battle skirt contains fourteen small missiles and daggers; arms transform into hand cannons and blades and support beam attacks 151.
    • Elbow thrusters increase punching force, while leg and foot jets provide prolonged flight and directional control 151.
    • Carries a Thunder Wheel, chest Core Reactor with an energy-column attack, head-mounted returning blades, and eye lasers 151 191.
    • Its X-Ray Beam is described as somewhat stronger than Ramiel’s laser. Huang later uses the unit to destroy four Artificial Angel 4Cs 151 195.
  • Unit-03 — Assigned to Huang for testing in the Rebuild storyline. He defeats its infecting Angel and takes control of the Eva 172 173 174.
  • Modification Card — A single-use card for combining flesh and machinery into new weapons or technological items 182.
  • Medical Pod — Houses his original white-haired body before his controlled Angel awakening 196 197.
  • Completed artifact spear — A black-and-white, double-ended spear assembled after he gathers all five artifact fragments 213.
  • Resurrection Armor — Obtained from the system upgrade’s Epic Gift Pack. Huang reserves it for himself as insurance for the ending and keeps it ready during the Unit-13 operation; the supplied passages do not show its activation 213 234.
  • New Special Unit — A heavily armored, angular upgrade with folded back wings, a horn that splits into a V, a halo, and back thrusters 231.
  • Forced Shutdown Signal Plug — Used in his attempted attack on Unit-13 before the Eva restrains and captures him 234.
  • Pocket watch — Given to him by Asuka before his final departure. Contains their photograph when he awakens in his original world and serves as evidence of their shared experience 245.

Relationships

  • Asuka — Teammate and romantic partner. Their early teasing develops into affection after he protects her and Shinji; she later initiates a kiss, recognizes that she loves him, and exchanges a promise not to abandon each other. He secretly takes responsibility for her transferred injuries 14 15 16 33 43 48.
    • During their hometown visit, they share grief over their families and promise to build a future together 53.
