Huang Zhetian helped WILLE survive the Fourth Impact, then guided Shinji and Black Rei toward life in Third Village. As Shinji rebuilt his resolve and Black Rei began choosing for herself, Shinji vowed to stop Gendo Ikari’s Impact Ritual and protect humanity.

• Huang Zhetian and WILLE fought Gendo Ikari’s forces, but Shinji Ikari left with Black Rei in Mark.09 and was taken to NERV Headquarters, where Kaworu Nagisa became his companion.
• Gendo’s plan activated Unit-13 and triggered the Fourth Impact, while Huang Zhetian and Asuka tried to stop the ritual, and Kaworu drove the spears into Unit-13 and died as the GUF Gate closed.
• Huang Zhetian rescued Shinji and Black Rei, then his Apocalypse clone helped Mari and WILLE restore the Anti-L System in Paris and reach NERV’s supplies.
• Kensuke brought Huang Zhetian, Shinji, and Black Rei to Third Village, where Shinji reunited with Toji and Hikari and Black Rei began experiencing village life.
• Huang Zhetian helped Shinji face his past, accept the DSS Choker, and train with a spear, while Black Rei learned farm work, questioned her feelings, and asked Shinji for a name.
• After Huang Zhetian warned that Black Rei’s body would soon return to its original form, Shinji chose to go back and stay with her, vowed to stop Gendo’s Impact Ritual, and pierced a boulder with his spear.
