Decades before the main events, Chen Cong fought She Yaolei of Spirit Hall’s Snake Lance She Family. Despite initially holding the advantage, he underestimated She Yaolei’s purple fifth soul ring and suffered a lasting chest wound. She Yaolei was also seriously injured. Travelling Mentor and Dao Protector
