Background / History

The nation began as the Tru Kingdom, described as a barren and weak country that lacked even a ship of its own due to poverty and pirate harassment. Nova ascended the throne at age fourteen, after which the country developed rapidly. 230 382 425

At its Navy establishment ceremony, Nova announced the kingdom’s renaming as the Tru Empire. The event formally displayed its Admirals and military organization to domestic and foreign observers. 213 214

The Empire used naval patrols to suppress piracy throughout the South Blue, making its merchant ships notably safe. Its military review established the “Four Emperors and One Emperor” international power structure and drove a major boom in trade. 215

Nova then opened accession to nations willing to integrate. The Empire absorbed neighboring states, including Nubia, Kurha, and Tumei, nearly doubling its land area and adding nearly 20 million people; it later absorbed all South Blue countries. 217 528

Three years after its negotiations with CP Zero, the Tru Empire became a first-tier World Government member nation. This recognition legitimized its expansion while the Empire retained substantial independent power. 238

The Empire expanded beyond the South Blue through diplomacy, military deterrence, intelligence operations, and alliances. Its influence reached Fish-Man Island, Sky Island, Alabasta, and the New World. 311 413 553

Following its rise during the Summit War and subsequent political developments, the World Government transferred authority to the Tru Empire. The Empire established the World Alliance Peacekeeping Force and reorganized its original military as the Peace Army. 603 620
