"You really won't let us go? Why?!" Mirror Knight and Glenfire protested bitterly.

They had wanted to wake the Jean Brothers, who were undergoing emergency repairs, and head out with the three EVAs to rescue Zero, but everyone had stopped them.

"No, you're too badly hurt!" Misato and Kaji each blocked one of them.

"We're worried!" they both cried.

Yui Ikari walked up to them and said earnestly, "Listen to me. Please put your faith in humanity this time!"

"You've already done more than enough for humanity."

"Even if you do go out, it would be best to wait until the most critical moment and serve as our final safeguard."

"I believe they'll protect the Magnalium Energy."

At that moment, in the Eva Hangar housing the three EVAs, Ritsuko was giving her final instructions before launch.

Ritsuko's expression was grave. "The devices that keep out the Black Fog only last five minutes, just like the EVAs' power supplies..."

"So we haven't equipped you with spare batteries..."

Once the final instructions were over, all three EVAs were catapulted toward the surface with a thunderous roar.

Ritsuko silently held on to hope.

The three EVAs were launched to the surface, where they faced the enormous Cross.

Asuka gripped the controls tightly as Unit-02's massive body raced through the ruins. Its right hand clutched the crimson Lance of Longinus, which radiated ominous fluctuations, while its left held a modified drum-fed rifle. Inside the rifle, the Magnalium Energy gave off a gentle glow filled with hope.

Her objective was clear-the enormous Cross standing in the center of the city, and Ultraman Zero, bound to it with his light extinguished.

"I see him!" A sharp gleam flashed in Asuka's eyes. Yet almost simultaneously, seven white figures rose like phantoms from the ruins surrounding the Cross.
