Nameless controlled the little demon as it ran like mad, terrified that even a second's delay would get it discovered.
"It worked! Brother, they didn't notice! Hehehehehe!" His Demon Eyes gleamed with smug delight, as though victory were already halfway in the bag.
Kokushibo, however, showed no joy. He continued scanning the mountains warily. "...Nameless...now that you have succeeded...retrieve the little demon at once...we cannot afford any mistakes! ..."
"Oh, don't rush me, Brother~" Nameless waved dismissively.
"How far have we even gotten? We're still so close to the Butterfly Mansion. How am I supposed to ask Nakime to open a door? Are you desperate to lure over a few hundred Kasugai Crows, or something even scarier? Obviously, we need to get farther away..."

Before Nameless could finish, a deafening blast erupted.
"Holy shit, did Fat Man and Little Boy arrive early???" Startled out of his wits, Nameless instantly crouched and covered his head.
Kokushibo snorted coldly. His hand had already closed around the hilt of Kokushibo's Flesh Blade. With a flick of his wrist, crescent-shaped sword light blossomed in the dark.

Sparks scattered as Kokushibo cleanly split both incoming bullets. They struck the ground on either side, kicking up dust.
"Bullets?!" Nameless raised his head and whipped around. "Who was that?! Who the fuck dared ambush me?!"
Kokushibo took a defensive stance, pointing Kokushibo's Flesh Blade toward the depths of the distant forest.
"...A swordsman of the Demon Slayer Corps...yet he carries a demon's scent...faint...but present...extremely far away...using an enhanced firearm..."
"Fuck-a kind of plant!" Nameless immediately caught on.
