Blood sprayed as Tarnished was thrown from his saddle, a wound deep enough to expose bone torn into his right shoulder.
The Night's Cavalry pressed his attack without pause. First, he struck Torrent with his halberd, dispersing him, then brought his weapon down with all his strength in a flawless blow!
Creeeak!
The Academy's North Gate burst open. Nepheli charged out in front, two Crucible Knights close behind. Reinforcements had finally arrived!
"ROOOAR!!!"
A dragon's roar rang out as dazzling magical light blossomed atop the Academy. The Moon Princess had finally defeated the Queen of the Full Moon, and the stone witch Sellen rode a dragon to the battlefield!
"Tarnished!"
"Tarnished!"
"Tarnished!"
"Lord Tarnished!"
Countless people cried his name, their eyes nearly bursting from their sockets as they watched the Nightrider Glaive descend.
The Night's Cavalry silently repeated that name as well. He knew that once he killed the man before him, Stormveil would fall apart!
"Die!"
The Nightrider Glaive continued its downward arc.
Agheel spewed a fierce blast of dragonfire, but the Night's Cavalry ignored it.
I must kill Tarnished here! I must kill Tarnished here!
Boom!
The flames swallowed both the Night's Cavalry and Tarnished. With the situation so desperate, Agheel had no time to distinguish friend from foe.
Yet the sharp black halberd cleaved straight through the flames, continuing unwaveringly toward Tarnished. Everyone's heart skipped a beat, but what rang out next was a crisp clang.
The Nightrider Glaive bounced away. The Night's Cavalry and his horse staggered back several steps. "What is that?"
As the flames dispersed, an enormous black sword, its edge not even sharpened, came into view. Agheel had spat out more than fire-this weapon had come with it.
The sword was so enormous that standing behind it was like standing behind a shield.
