After discovering that Teyvat had fallen from the Imaginary Tree and the Abyss was the Sea of Quanta eroding it, Xiu Yuan sought a way to stop the world’s destruction. He endured centuries of repeated erosion and regeneration before diving into the Sea of Quanta in search of hope.

• Xiu Yuan left Teyvat and learned that its world had fallen from the Imaginary Tree, leaving it to be consumed by the Sea of Quanta.

• After Morax invited Guizhong to travel, she passed the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor to Hu Linhao and retired once he proved capable of running it.
• Guizhong spent Lantern Rite with the Adepti and Yakshas, then left Liyue with Morax to travel the world.

• Golden Roc led the miners to the Chasm, where the party encountered several groups of monsters on the way.
• A Millelith guard told Golden Roc that eighty-two monsters had attacked in one day, leaving thirteen soldiers severely wounded and thirty-two with minor injuries.
• Azhdaha burst out from underground and stared blankly at Golden Roc, who noticed dark purple patches on his body.

Azhdaha rampaged through The Chasm, forcing Golden Roc and the Thousand Rock Corps to fight to protect the miners and hold him back. As the battle grew dire, the other four Yakshas arrived above The Chasm.

• Azhdaha attacked Golden Roc, who broke through his fireball and ordered the Thousand Rock Corps to evacuate the miners and summon the Three-Eyed Five-Manifestation Immortal.
• Golden Roc rescued miners from Azhdaha's lightning and returned to The Chasm, where Azhdaha blasted him into the rock.
• Fifteen Thousand Rock Corps soldiers stayed behind to support Golden Roc, and he ordered them to keep Azhdaha occupied without attacking.

Morax fought desperately to reach the burning city until Zebu arrived, held off their pursuers, and gave him a chance to escape in search of his wife.

• Ningguang dropped the Jade Chamber onto the Demon Gods, pinning two but failing to stop the third from shattering Liyue's Protective Barrier.
• The monsters flooded Liyue Harbor, and a little girl was killed just after releasing a Sea Lantern stained with her blood.

Morax found Liyue and Jueyun Karst devastated, then discovered Guizhong alive and realized he was being consumed by a mysterious force. A familiar box unlocked his memories of Xiu Yuan, and as Morax cried out for his brother, Xiu Yuan answered that he had always been there.

He persuaded the Lord of the Underworld to help revive its inhabitants, then killed Morax and Guizhong so their souls could be gathered and transported to the new world.
