"Now it's your turn!"
Ellin's words brimmed with murderous intent.
Seeing her friend attacked and left on the brink of death had already enraged her, and the two Abyss Mages had spent the entire battle taking potshots from a distance, fueling her fury even further.
All the Hilichurl Berserkers had been slain. The Abyss Mages no longer had anyone to hold Ellin back.
"Die!"
Sword in hand, Ellin advanced toward the Abyss Mages one step at a time. With her bloodshot eyes, she looked like death itself. Each footfall seemed to land on their hearts, making it hard for them to breathe.
"You ant... don't underestimate us!"
Terrified by Ellin's presence, the Abyss Mages could only bolster their courage with words like these while summoning vast amounts of elemental energy to form thick shields around themselves.
"Hiding in your shells, are you? Let's see which is faster-your gathering elemental energy or my breaking your shields!"
"Neither of you is leaving here alive today!"
With that, Ellin charged toward the Abyss Mages.
She chose the Electro Abyss Mage as her first target. Cryo was particularly effective against Electro, making its shield easier to break.
Of course, the Abyss Mages would not let Ellin approach so easily. They waved their staves, casting spell after spell.
Flames and lightning hurtled toward Ellin at once.
Without a word, Ellin raised her sword and cleaved a fireball apart. Then, with a thought, she formed a wall of ice ahead of her, blocking the Electro Abyss Mage's Thunder Serpent attack.
Next, she pressed her hand down. The Ice Spirit Orb high overhead glimmered, and a vast shower of palm-sized ice shards poured down on the Electro Abyss Mage like a torrential storm.
Just then, numerous fiery-red magic circles suddenly appeared along Ellin's path.
Ellin turned to see the Pyro Abyss Mage dancing as it waved its staff. It was the one summoning those fiery-red magic circles.
It wanted to stop Ellin from approaching the Electro Abyss Mage.
But Ellin's training over the past few days had not been for nothing. During that time, she had developed quite a few techniques based on her Cryo Vision.
Her bloodshot eyes swept over the Pyro Abyss Mage. She thrust out her slender hand and clenched it hard in its direction!
"Execution Ice Prison!"
As Ellin closed her hand, the Cryo energy within the domain churned. Vast amounts of it converged on the Pyro Abyss Mage, forming a thick ice prison that sealed it inside in an instant!
The ice prison resembled a thick eggshell, smooth on the outside, but its interior was another matter entirely. Countless spikes would sprout within, extending toward the center until they filled the entire prison and riddled the enemy with holes.
Ellin knew perfectly well that this technique could not kill the Pyro Abyss Mage. But it could trap it for a long time, and to avoid being impaled, it would have to expend considerable stamina casting Pyro attacks to clear away the ever-growing ice spikes.
And the time it spent trapped would be more than enough for Ellin to kill the Electro Abyss Mage!
Leaping up and dodging another attack from the Electro Abyss Mage, Ellin finally reached it.
She beckoned with her hand, and another sword appeared in her grasp.
It was none other than Ellin's other four-star weapon-the Flute!
With the Flute in her left hand and the Black Sword in her right, the Vision at her waist shone. Vast amounts of Cryo energy coated both blades as Ellin unleashed a furious assault on the Electro Abyss Mage.
The Cryo-infused swords hacked relentlessly at the Electro Abyss Mage's shield. With each strike, the shield dimmed a little more, and the mage's heart tightened with it.
Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang...
The blows rang out without pause. After more than a hundred slashes, Ellin returned both swords to her inventory. Then, with frigid air billowing around her fist, she punched the shield!
Ice fragments scattered!
The punch shattered the shield. In the same motion, Ellin opened her fist into a claw and seized the Electro Abyss Mage by the head!
"Die!"
With a furious roar, Ellin leaped high, gripping the Electro Abyss Mage's head, then used her momentum to slam it into the ground.
With the Attack Sands Artifact equipped, Ellin possessed tremendous physical strength. That single slam left a crater a meter wide in the ground, and the Abyss Mage's blood splashed up over its edges!
But... that was not enough!
These two Abyss Mages were responsible for hurting Fischl, and Ellin had sworn to kill them in the most brutal way possible!
With another roar of grief and rage, Ellin hauled the Electro Abyss Mage up by its head and smashed it against a flat cliff face in Wolvendom with all her might!
Blood splattered everywhere. Keeping its face pressed against the cliff, Ellin dragged the Electro Abyss Mage along it for over thirty meters, leaving a long smear of blood. Only when she realized it had stopped breathing did she stop, tossing it to the ground like garbage.
Having dealt with the Electro Abyss Mage, Ellin immediately turned her gaze toward the ice prison. Seeing it gradually turn transparent and become covered in cracks, she curled her lips into a cold smile.
Crack!
With a sharp sound, the ice prison shattered.
The Pyro Abyss Mage's small figure finally emerged. Throughout its confinement, it had constantly cast fire spells to shatter the ice spikes and keep itself from being riddled with holes.
Although it had finally broken out of the ice prison, it had exhausted so much stamina that it could no longer even form a flame shield.
It had escaped at last, but before it could catch its breath, it found itself suddenly engulfed in shadow.
A terrible sense of dread rose within it. It looked up, and its face instantly filled with terror!
The white-haired girl had leaped high into the air, holding an enormous block of ice covered in spikes, and was bringing it down straight at it!
"Go to hell and repent for hurting my friend!"
"Ice Soul Hammer Strike!"
The white-haired girl roared in grief and fury, swinging the enormous spiked block of ice down hard onto its body!
Boom!
A tremendous, muffled crash!
It was impossible to imagine just how angry the white-haired girl was, or how much strength she had put into that blow.
The Abyss Mage felt as though a small mountain had been swung straight into it. The tremendous force slammed through its body, shattering every bone in an instant!
Without its bones to support it, its body was crushed into a mangled, misshapen mass of flesh and blood. It flew over a hundred meters before crashing to the ground, without a trace of life left in it.
Rain came pouring down...
A torrential rain began to fall over Wolvendom.
Not a single enemy remained on the ravaged ground.
Ellin stood alone, letting the downpour wash over her face and wounds.
Blood mingled with the rainwater and flowed into the earth.
The image of Fischl slumped on the ground, close to death, still haunted her...
She did not even know whether Fischl could still be saved.
"Fischl, my dear friend, I've avenged you!"
Tears slipped from the corners of her eyes, then dissolved into the rain...
Having slain every enemy and avenged her friend, she had nothing left to drive her. Her anger had subsided, leaving only sorrow.
Her stamina had long since run out. Only her determination to avenge her friend had kept her fighting through her injuries, pushing her body far beyond its limits.
Now that the battle was over and her anger had faded, her injuries and exhaustion struck all at once.
Unable to hold herself up any longer, she collapsed onto the waterlogged ground.
