Chu Mu and the others barely had time to exchange a few words with Sampo before they heard armor clanking in the distance, along with the crunch of footsteps in the snow.
"The Silvermane Guards!" Sampo's expression changed. "Guys, gals, help me out here! I don't want to get thrown in jail!"
By then, their pursuers had come into view.
The soldier carrying a Halberd spotted them too and shouted:
"I've spotted the blue-haired suspect! He's got accomplices!"
The soldiers pursuing Sampo numbered a full squad, seven or eight men.
Still, the Halberds in their hands hardly looked intimidating. In an interstellar age, weapons like those were hopelessly outdated.
The Powder Guns carried by the ranged soldiers at the back didn't look particularly threatening either. Their accuracy was probably mostly down to luck.
The only weapons that looked intimidating were the Large-Caliber Hand Cannons carried by several tall soldiers.
These three types of soldiers corresponded to the Guards, Shooters, and Gunners within the Silvermane Guards.
Leading them was an armored Junior Officer wielding an ice-blue spear.
The Junior Officer loudly ordered:
"Arrest them at once!"
