It was not until everyone was about to leave the shopping street that Tingyun spoke her first words since entering it.

She fixed her bright gaze on Chu Mu's Doppelganger and asked:

"Mr. Green, might I pick out a gift?"

Chu Mu froze for a moment at her words.

Her speaking up felt rather sudden.

After staying silent for so long, she had finally said something.

Chu Mu controlled his Doppelganger and gave a slight nod:

"Of course. Like I said earlier, tonight's purchases are on me. Don't hold back on my account."

"Then I won't stand on ceremony." Tingyun blinked and smiled faintly.

She was utterly enchanting.

Once again, she drew everyone's attention.

Stelle, March 7th, and the others had not noticed Tingyun's unusually long silence. Instead, they thought they had been so engrossed in shopping that they had neglected her.

No one asked why Tingyun had gone so long without speaking, whether she was upset, or anything of the sort.

No one asked.

It was as though her earlier silence had never happened.

Quite naturally, Tingyun returned to the center of everyone's attention.

March 7th asked curiously:

"What sort of gift do you want, Miss Tingyun?"

"A token of love," Stelle blurted out mischievously. Seeing Welt give her an exasperated look, she hurriedly coughed. "Ahem, ahem! Slip of the tongue. Don't take it seriously!"

Tingyun covered her face with her fan and said shyly:

"You do love teasing me, benefactor. I don't even have a sweetheart, so how could I need a token of love?"

Stelle lowered her head and muttered:

"I wouldn't be so sure."

Her muttering was rather indistinct.

Perhaps Tingyun really had not heard her clearly.

She approached a little stall selling fox masks. The owner had painted them all himself, and they were exquisite.
